This limitation is not intentional by design. I would like to support touch devices and mobile, but to do it properly could take some careful thought and consideration. It's open source and I am looking for some help and input from the community. Even if it's just opening issues, so don't be shy ;)
Now everyone’s a DJ https://www.youtube.com/live/wc5j-HK4NS8
Still experimental and way outside my expertise, would love to hear anyone with ideas or experience with this kind of problem
I think this touches on the root of the issue. I am seeing a results over process winning. Code quality will reduce. Out of touch or apathetic project management who prioritize results, now are even more emboldened to have more tech debt riddled code
You might even say a Obsidian alternative
https://github.com/rbbydotdev/opal
MIT and open source no documentation yet. But coming very soon
When used right, ideas could be distilled not extrapolated into slop. -- So maybe its not ALL BAD?
I propose a new quotation system, the 3 quote marker to disclose text written or assisted by ai:
'''You are absolutely right'''
open source browser first server-less markdown document workspace and publisher, contending to be a free obsidian alternative
storage is done in indexeddb or it can utilize opfs to work on a local file directory
comes with git integration
can publish to aws cloudflare vercel and github pages
built with shadcn react and typescript
- rich markdown editor (via mdxeditor.dev) and source (codemirror6)
- uses indexeddb and optionally opfs (select a directory on your local hd)
- some service worker hacks to do seamless image processing (jpg/png -> webp), storage and retrieval
- document snapshot history, thumbnail preview with iframe and snapdom: html->img sorcery
- live previews and compilations
- loads very quickly, navigation and cold starts, images make heavy use of the Cache api
- use in-browser git (thanks isomorphic-git) for version control; optionally sync with github via cors proxy (host your own if you want)
- best of all completely free to use. 99.5% finished MIT github repo dropping soon ;)
I experimented a bit with the concept to build my resume, I had naively been using gatsby a while back. "Just use a plain html file!" - It was a real "duh!" moment. You just edit the embedded markdown then viola. Want a pdf? Press cmd+P
