razvanr··on Show HN: Hoodie App is Men's Clothing in Two Taps
Hi from https://www.twotap.com :) You can enable this for 100+ retailers -- https://twotap.com/supported-stores -- with full return support too.

We love it too!

Thanks, great feedback. I should've probably made the Supported Page more visible and also have some emphasis on the actual Quick Checkout button.

Our philosophy is to make the experience as seamless as possible and just display the Quick Checkout banner on supported product pages. The utility should be in front of you when you need it but ideally without you having to remember to use it.

For convenience and also being able to re-use that data on mobile. Entering the same data again and again through checkout processes seems and feels like a big waste of time to a lot of customers.

As always, questions are welcome :)
razvanr··on The eCommerce buying API powering amberExpress. Order products with code
Thanks, we're glad to see the market recognising potential here. It's still early days but the support we're seeing is very promising.

Changes to the checkout process are dealt with regression testing. As for supporting new retailers (even niche ones), feel free to email us at founders@amber.io to support your site.

As for Magento and other platforms we're in discussions to support them too.

Excellent question, and probably the most popular we're getting. We're currently having discussions with a lot of retailers and the ones that react do so positively. Surely there will be some backlash from some of the big players and we'll remove support for them if they explicitly ask us to. We expect that much.

Then again here's a quote from a merchant that reached out just this morning: "How do we get our store added, what you guys are doing is rad! [redacted] I've actually already been talking to a handful of app photo app developers about integrating our store into their app as a way to create incremental revenue -- I'd love to be able to have them use your API instead of having to build something ourselves."

If they're around maybe they can publicly contribute to the discussion.

Thanks for the support!
razvanr··on Show HN: AmberExpress - order any product on your mobile device with just 2 taps
As far as we know this is currently the only B2C approach built on top of an API that can place orders on ecommerce websites.

One of the cofounders here, we're quite chatty so feel free to reach out :)
razvanr··on Ask HN: Is it just me or has YouTube gone fanatical on ads?
The problem is that most people go to YouTube for quick content. It becomes useless when you have to stop 3 out of 4 times for 5-30 seconds, as OP pointed out. It completely changes the YouTube experience and just doesn't feel "right" or scalable as a business model.

Or, if Google sticks to it then the sort of content that gets consumed might change. I already find myself skipping to see videos under 2 minutes if there's an ad before.

I never felt pushed around by ads on Netflix, South Park or any other premium content though.

razvanr··on I Dropped Out of Grad School Today
I totally agree with not taking decisions lightly, but with a clear head. I've put all my studies on hold this year(currently 19) because it makes so much more sense to experiment as best I can at this stage. I've since been employed as a copywriter(great job), then as a programmer(hated it because things were moving too slow in that company) and I ultimately started a low-profile firm and pitched alternative outdoor marketing projects to big distribution firms here in Bucharest. What I'm trying to say is that in 9 months I've learned more than in my entire formal studies up until now. And it's not only about the knowledge but also about life experience and how to deal with things. It always demands great respect to take your own life into your hands and take decisions. It's also great to know that you can manage things on your own and be financially independent at this age.

I don't take formal studies lightly in any way, but I consider that it's great added value if I continue them in a few years.

razvanr··on Top 10 Brands on Digg
I wonder how Digg is the tenth among those. I wonder how it made the list actually.
razvanr··on Adbrite launches BritePic - "Steroids for Photos"
Nice. It seems a bit complex though for the casual user. But I can see it catch on.
