When I started photography as a hobby years ago, the community in the forums never suggested I used film, neither did friends (a couple of them working at pro level) and colleagues. I know there are some snob people out there but even the ones I’ve met never actually said to start with film.
That being said, every one of them gave the same advice: don’t worry too much about the gear; instead, go learn light and composition.

As bad as the web is, I certainly don't miss the days when I had to go to a physical office, wait minutes, sometimes hours, in a line and talk to somebody that may or may not help me, depending on how their day was going. Thanks but no thanks.
The bees were really angry and we got stung multiple times. Luckily we’re not allergic and were able to run away. They stopped attacking after we were out of range (my guess), about 70 meters away.
Edit: typo.
Can confirm. Here the 3 of us have 2nd generation AirPods. In one of them the mic is no longer working, on another one of the AirPods won’t connect 90% of the time, and the last one has a combination of these two issues. Another family member is on their second pair already.
AirPods are great, while they are working.
Edit: forgot to mention that 3 of those pairs were replaced while under warranty.
tl;dr: it shouldn’t be time consuming.
As far as I remember, the vast majority, if not all, of recruiters I spoke with in the past few years asked me about my work eligibility in the US.
