Another fantastic remote only company is Moon Studios, the creators of Ori And The Blind Forest.
randiantech··on Deprecation of OpenGL and OpenCL
Instead of looking for gov punishment, make people change their minds showing this evidence of why Apple is sucking big time.

randiantech··on Guccifer 2.0 Slipped Up and Revealed He Was a Russian Intelligence Officer
US actively helped to establish military dictatorships on Latinamerica. So yes, business as usual.
randiantech··on Node.js v9.9.0
Be aware that theres some ongoing issues like this one for 9.9.0: https://github.com/nodejs/node/issues/19519 Other than that, congratz to the Node team!
randiantech··on My new favorite book of all time
"The bomb? The plague? Trump? Not to worry; things are getting better."[0]

Comparing Trump to nuclear bombs and plagues does not seem a good idea to start a conversation about reason, science, humanism, and progress.

randiantech··on Suburbs That Haven't Recovered from the Recession
Decentralization of bigger cities is one of the key things where govern should take action in the foreseeable future. I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which receives 2 million workers every day. Govern should pass laws to incentivize companies to move out of the city, banks to give credits on underdeveloped areas, and heavily invest of public transportation to those areas. We are reaching a level bigger cities are not capable to scale any longer.
randiantech··on Ask HN: What are the big differences working at a startup, bigco, old smallco?
Exactly my experience after working several years for many big corporations and startups. I would add that might expect much worst work-life balance as a foreign developer working for an american startup.
randiantech··on We Can’t Trust Facebook to Regulate Itself
I dont trust NYTIMES to regulate itself either, or any other major news outlet there. Or any oil company, or big food corporation, or any militar company. Or the department of defense. I just dont know what is the ideal solution ,but state regulation is not the answer. It looks very dangerous.
randiantech··on Catalan referendum: preliminary results show 90% in favour of independence
There are reports of people voting from two to 4 different schools. Wondering what methods authorities used to ensure there was no fraud on these referendum.
randiantech··on Git git git git git
It happens to me when cloning a repo. Sometimes I just write git clone ..., go to browser and the command already contains git clone, then i end up having sth like git clone git clone ...
randiantech··on Node.js Forked Again Over Complaints of Unresponsive Leadership – The New Stack
I do understand the 2015 fork and the technical reasons behind it. But this is non sense.
randiantech··on JavaScript is Eating the World
Indeed, although Typescript is a good solution to have more OOP based abstractions, like Generics, Abstract Classes and Interfaces.
randiantech··on JavaScript is Eating the World
Javascript as a language and ecosystem has evolved quite dramatically during the last years. Its not perfect though: it lacks features and ecosystem is still not in the level of maturity of other platforms, but is definitely going in the right direction. Regarding the single threaded server, its an architecture used before JS exists, and used by many other platforms/systems. Just to give you an example, Nginx workers are single threaded.
randiantech··on Sony debuts the new Alpha 9 mirrorless camera with 20fps continuous shooting
Impressive hardware indeed, but price is prohibitive (at least for me!) right now: usd4500
randiantech··on We’re losing the information war
Its is not just "some bias". Its every single day accessing to WaPo or NYT and have two dozens articles and news about Trump with negative connotation. As a non American, I just got tired of this. I dont feel the need to access to the mainstream portals anymore. It just began to be boring. There is an ongoing coup in Venezuela, with illegal arrests but somehow the very same Russian - Trump news remains more important.
randiantech··on UK triggers the official Brexit process in a letter to EU
Didnt the experts also said that UK not joining the Euro was going to be a catastrophe?
randiantech··on VS Code uses 13% CPU when idle due to blinking cursor rendering
VS Code IS a viable option. I use it daily basis and works great.
randiantech··on Windows 10 is bringing ads to File Explorer – how to turn them off
The very same info was published just a couple of days ago.
randiantech··on Why WebAssembly Is Faster Than Asm.js
Well, Java bytecode already does that. The cool thing about WebAssembly is that runs (or will run) on any browser.
randiantech··on YC will hold interviews in Vancouver for founders who can’t get US visas
I would believe this is not political if YC would have done this in the past. Its not that Visa issues to enter US is something brought by Trump administration. In any case, I celebrate the decision.
randiantech··on CIA malware and hacking tools
I think it would be completely fair to see all countries affected by CIA's hacking to take the exact actions US did with Russia.
randiantech··on Why I left Mac for Windows: Apple has given up
Open multiple browsers; multiple IDEs (heavy ones like IntelliJ IDEA and Eclipse); in general the directory explorer I feel it more responsive. Is not that OSX is slow at all, but W10 truly surprised me.
randiantech··on Why I left Mac for Windows: Apple has given up
Yeah, as a MBP 15 owner, Im sure my next in home computer will be a Windows 10. In my MBP, Bootcamp with w10 works much faster than OSX.
randiantech··on Cerebro App – Open-source productivity booster with a brain
This app took at least many months of work of the developer, who, by the way, is giving it for free. No need to be harsh or disqualify him. IF you dont like it, move on.
randiantech··on V8 is going to switch to a new compiler architecture after 5.8 branch cut
Based on what the article says, performance would be improved. Since theres no API changes, it would be safe for NodeJS team to try to upgrade to this new version without regression issues.
randiantech··on AMD Gives More Zen Details
Is it plausible a procesador like this to be used on new Xbox scorpio, later next year?
randiantech··on Facebook Said to Create Censorship Tool to Get Back into China
I dont know why you got downvoted, from a strict business point of view makes sense. Facebook is still a company looking for profit, and China market provides that. I hate gov and corps doing this evil things, but thats a different story.
randiantech··on Number of active repositories in GitHub per language, per month
