qorrect··on U.S. inflation cools again, giving Fed room to downshift on rates
Egge case
qorrect··on Ask HN: Strategies for working with engineers that are too smart?
Well now I'm confused about which type I am. I consider myself a "simplifier", but writing your own OOP framework sounds fun I would have definitely chosen that route.
qorrect··on Ask HN: Can you crowdfund the compute for GPT?
There is this https://vast.ai/hosting
qorrect··on Geoffrey Hinton publishes new deep learning algorithm
Is it slower and less accurate ? Or just slower.
qorrect··on Show HN: Socketify.py: Http/Https and WebSockets servers for PyPy3 and Python3
When is the last time you checked ?

I have run it with pandas+numpy and postgres+timescale without issue for the last year.

qorrect··on Ask HN: I'm 40 and feel my mental ability declining. Programming seems harder.
I have not heard this take but it does seem plausible. What to do about it ?
qorrect··on I’ve been battling cancer last 2 years, but now only have a few days left
Agreed on all points. Thinking about developing a crippling disease is the only time I've been thankful that you can buy a pistol in any walmart.
qorrect··on What Is a Query Planner?
Is this different from 'compiling sql'?
qorrect··on Autopsy-based characterization of myocarditis after anti-SARS-CoV-2-vaccination
That caught me off guard too. 'Did he ... did he hand draw this' ?
qorrect··on Ask HN: What companies offer part-time positions?
Yeah we need to keep that out of here.
qorrect··on Ask HN: What's You Life's Work?
> Almost all of the technological breakthroughs I can think of have eventually been used to excess and ended up crippling us in some way

What do you mean crippling ? We're living longer than we did 100 years ago through advances in science in medicine, I see a lot of tech as net positive.

qorrect··on US Department of Energy: Fusion Ignition Achieved
Yes well done .
qorrect··on Pony Programming Language
Came here to say this also, couldn't find any code samples after 5 clicks and gave up.
qorrect··on A 100MW solar farm in Texas will mount panels directly on the ground
Like a floating dock ? Or a suspension bridge ? I like the idea , might be cheaper than all that steel.
qorrect··on Ask HN: What is the best income stream you have created till date?
I have never seen this chart before today http://www.radicalsimpli.city/Complexity2005_2021.svg. I have seen it three times in the space of an hour on different websites.
qorrect··on Show HN: ChatGPT in Emacs
I haven't used Emacs in a few years, what is Quelpa is that the new Melpa ?

Edit: Oh I see it builds packages from source, like a Gentoo for emacs packages.

qorrect··on Ask HN: How to get back into AI?
By Deep Learning you mean neural networks with more than one hidden layer ? I've seen some results from massive random forests that are on par, but I don't know of anything that is set to replace the NN architecture, which at this point has been around in one form or another since 1957.
qorrect··on Ask HN: What Is Going on with Neo4j?
> I feel that Graph databases are one of those things like Document databases. You probably don't need it...

I got a really good chuckle out of that.

qorrect··on Ask HN: Do you look angry while you work?
> I used to take selfies to help neutrally assess my own mood. A lot of the time I was feeling something and unaware, but I could tell from the photo.

What were you feeling that you could only identify by your outward appearance ? You don't have to look happy and smiling all the time, in many cultures ( Germany, France ) people actively distrust people who do this.

qorrect··on Emacs 29 is nigh
I don't think that's what he is saying. He is saying that Emacs once ruled supreme because it was the only option. Now that IDE's have caught up, it's in the lead by only a little.
qorrect··on Emacs 29 is nigh
> A decade or two later you realize you've become accustomed the darkness...

Nice one.

qorrect··on Paredit 25 released, after 8 years
I did not know that!
qorrect··on Stack Computers: the new wave (1989) [pdf]
Are these mutual exclusive ? Are there any compilers that use both stack and registers ?
qorrect··on Paredit 25 released, after 8 years
It's on the first line there "ParEdit (paredit.el) is a minor mode for performing structured editing of S-expression data. The typical example of this would be Lisp or Scheme source code." You'd have to known emacs nomenclature ( minor-mode ) and Lispy words ( S-expression )
