This is delightfully mysterious. Is this a biological disruption attack? An unlucky shipping glitch? The real answer is probably more boring but I'd like to believe it's something nefarious!
This is actually false. Early psychologists thought that humans could know everything about their own brain's processes, but observational psychology proved most of their assumptions wrong. It's called introspection, and it's almost always not indicative of a person's actual inner workings.
India has a sim card system like this, but it is actually even less secure and shockingly easy to game. That's not even counting for the fact that not everyone has a cell phone (a minority, but still exists).
Between this and Epic's massive grant towards Blender, they are really doing their part to enrich an already blossoming open source artist community. It used to be that all of these tools were locked behind years of education and a staggering software subscription. Hopefully they continue backing these grants as the Epic Games store matures.
Sometimes video ads can get my attention in a good way, they have to just be really well made. I remember scrolling through an Instagram ad that looked like a "safe suburban" style video. I almost dismissed it when a weird glitch effect began the transition into a Borderlands 3 advertisement. The dog in the backyard was suddenly a mutated feral dog, and his owner was a wasteland junkyard rat. I thought, "damn, I wish every ad was this good. Then I wouldn't hate them so much."
