Whenever people drop accolades upon historical figures (Fuller included) I always have to wonder if there is a bit of survivorship bias at play. I'm not saying that Fuller wasn't a complete genius (he definitely was), but I wonder how many other incorrect predictions, and other "geniuses", have been forgotten because they were incorrect.
pyrhho··on Congrats, Self-Righteous Internet Mob. You Killed a Magazine.
> Somehow I can't see an internet mob ganging up on someone who remixed a song (of an indie artist) and refused to see anything wrong with it.

It is a blend of the fact that the remixer was trying to make money off of the stolen content, and that the original writer had specifically told them to stop (which the remixer refused). I think it also sort of plays into people's underdog complex a bit, or wanting to stick up for the 'little guy'.

Slightly off topic but, I thoroughly enjoyed Jared Diamond's Gun's Germs and Steel[1]. Though his argument has some weaknesses, it makes an interesting case for why racial inequalities exist in the fashion that they do.

Additionally, poorly structured career ladders can to lead to "Promotion Until Incompetence", where people are repeatedly promoted until they are unable to warrant another promotion. Thus, everyone is stuck at a level of mild incompetence.
