psycr··on Show HN: Hype Machine - 5+ years of Internet music history
I've had this exact idea burning in my head for a little while now. I was going to go ahead and start scraping the popular list myself to do it! Great job Anthony & co!
psycr··on Ask HN: What's your blog?
Thanks for this! Read through the first couple of pages and it's got exactly what it says on the tin. Subscribed.

I think that since reading Lean into the Pain my quality of life has improved. I repeat it as a mantra, so I too was shocked to hear this news.

psycr··on Everything You Know About Fitness is a Lie (2011)
Huh, that's interesting. I go to a CrossFit affiliate that actually focusses pretty intently on olympic lifts. Each one hour session includes 20 minutes of practicing a specific lift. The two - olympic lifting and CrossFit - have become so intertwined in my mind that it's difficult to imagine one without the other.
psycr··on Pathogen from gut of obese human causes obesity in germfree mice
Two interesting notes from the abstract:

"The endotoxin-producing Enterobacter decreased in relative abundance from 35% of the volunteer’s gut bacteria to non-detectable, during which time the volunteer lost 51.4 kg of 174.8 kg initial weight and recovered from hyperglycemia and hypertension after 23 weeks on a diet of whole grains, traditional Chinese medicinal foods and prebiotics."

"The obesity-inducing capacity of this human-derived endotoxin producer in gnotobiotic mice suggests that it may causatively contribute to the development of obesity in its human host."

psycr··on Stripe Would Be Perfect If...
This probably would've been the best idea really. And at the end of the day, if revenue grows at a break neck pace you can always swap out Stripe for something like Recurly.
