Like the idea here. Always thought that here is a lot of room to improve in this space even though last.fm and pandora do a great job bucketing songs using social intelligence.

However your I could not play any songs from your site.

Really awesome idea. Though most of my queries didn't get answered, but can't see why this could not be helpful for certain kind of questions.

I was just talking with a friend of mine who is working on a project which, given data, lists the expertise of a user. We have plenty of information about our expertise on facebook, email clients, local documents, chats, and twitters. The only problem is that all the systems which have this data are disjoint. If a system processses all my communication - emails, IMs, forum posts, documents, maybe phone calls - it can learn easily which Stumpedia querries to direct to me.

My motivation to answer those querries is that I get visibility and I become a specialist.

I love Web 3.0!!

procyon··on Ask: Why do people need Twitter, anyway?
I think any information is a valuable information even if that means that "twitter-shitter" is talking about poop jokes.

Tools build on top of twitter which will mine the sea of this information, filter out interesting data and the extract some sense out of it will really make the experience better. Don't see too many creative tools build yet, but can't see why they would mature given enough time.

procyon··on Google spends $72 Million on Food
Don't know if it really makes sense for companies like MSFT to follow these tactics. Microsoft has around 80,000 employees compare to 16K employees at google. Besides, I think, average age of Microsoft employees is higher than google employees. Free food is not as lucrative for a middle age family man as compare to a new grad.

I heard from MSFT old timers that though Microsoft never had free food, they were quite lenient with food in their early days.

However, you have a point, in my opinion google has able to attract best tallent. Not sure how much free food accounts for it.

I guess it is some what expected when Google and Microsoft both are entering in same market.

More I read posts like these, more I appreciate what Paul Buchheit had said during startup school speech - "Listening != Obeying".
