Younger generations are increasingly not on Facebook. They're on other various social platforms.

Just don't get stuck on their email list... After unsubscribing countless times and still receiving emails from them, I had to threaten them with contacting the FTC to finally get removed from their mailing list.

Does everybody on HackerNews have a subscription to the New York Times or something?

So nix free speech (and rely on unknown propietary algorithms)? I don't think that's a good idea either. Much of the time, there's more value in the comments than you could gain from an article, video, etc - as is the case here.

You think CNN is 100% honest and credible? The same could be said of liberals or any arbitrary group of people.

This is one of the most poorly written articles I've ever seen.

Just a personal anecdote here: I live with my brother and most days, from the time he comes home from work to the time he goes to bed is mostly spent glued to his phone. Hard or impossible to talk to him while he's on it. He's mostly on Instagram and silly games - sometimes Bumble or whatever. Nice guy but gets flustered and/or puts me on hold (indefinitely) when I try to talk to him. He's a couple years older than me - in his late 20's.

I've tried talking to him about it, saying I can hardly talk to him (if ever) and he completely defends his position, saying he uses phone to keep in touch with friends, notifications admitedly feel good, etc.

Any suggestions?
