pomber··on Breeze Keyboard
I want to try a good one-handed chorded keyboard for everyday use, is there any product like that? Couldn't find anything
pomber··on Show HN: Lofi.cafe
Nice work! I'm starting a similar coworking stream on twitch today, also with lofi music but instead of gifs I share my screen and pomodoro timers. https://www.twitch.tv/pomber__
pomber··on Scrollycoding – A new way to write code walkthroughs [video]
Check 6:42 in the video. It works, if there isn't enough screen space it falls back to something more static.
pomber··on Scrollycoding – A new way to write code walkthroughs [video]
I like it!

I also have this project http://githistory.xyz/, I want to make a new version of it specific for tutorials, using commit messages or git notes to display a better description of each step.
pomber··on Scrollycoding – A new way to write code walkthroughs [video]
Agree. Nice demo! Good name also.
pomber··on Scrollycoding – A new way to write code walkthroughs [video]
That was the feeling that inspired me to work on this.

A few years ago I blogged [how to build your own react on Medium]( https://engineering.hexacta.com/didact-fiber-incremental-rec...) and the classic blog flow was to limiting. Later I wrote [this version](https://pomb.us/build-your-own-react/) on my blog. The experience was much better for both, reading and writing.

pomber··on I Made a Self-Quoting Tweet
AFAIK the tweet id has four moving parts, a datacenter id, a worker id, a sequence number, and a timestamp (original poster mentions three).

3-cycle is definitely doable, it may take a week posting 100 tweets per hour or something like that. The biggest problem is twitter blocking the account (even when you stay under the API rate limit).

Code is here if you are interested, I ran it using GitHub Actions: https://github.com/pomber/conway

pomber··on Launch HN: Scrimba (YC S20) – Interactive video for learning to code
As someone working on a similar space (https://codehike.org) I really like what you are doing. I haven't tried any full course but I can imagine how the format improves the learning experience while also making the job easier for the instructor. Good luck!
pomber··on Ask HN: Dear open source devs how do you sustain yourself
I've been working full-time open source for two years. I'm spending my savings to sustain myself. Not sure what will happen when I run out of money. I receive around USD 40 of donations per month and use them mostly to pay servers, domains, and other project's expenses. For reference, my top 3 projects on GitHub have 12k, 5k, and 2.5k stars.

To be clear, I'm not complaining, I think it's worth it.

pomber··on Ask HN: What is your blog and why should I read it?
https://pomb.us/

I'm experimenting with new ways to display code in time.

See: https://pomb.us/build-your-own-react/

There's a new post coming out this week. Sneak peek: https://twitter.com/pomber/status/1246080226779631618

pomber··on Show HN: 33 line React
Nice article, short and to the point.

If anyone wants to take this idea to another level, I wrote a post showing how to do the same but in 10 times more lines of code: https://pomb.us/build-your-own-react/

pomber··on Code Surfer – Rad Code Slides
Thanks! Yes, I still need to fix some issues in the docs page.
pomber··on React in concurrent mode: 2000 state-connected comps re-rendered at 60FPS
Yes, but the React team is working together with the Chrome team to improve it. There is an `isInputPending` proposal https://techcrunch.com/2019/04/22/facebook-makes-its-first-b...

pomber··on Codem Ipsum: Lorem Ipsum but for Code
Hey, I made this. I needed dummy but syntactically valid code to show in demos like this one: https://github.com/pomber/code-surfer/blob/code-surfer-v2/re...
pomber··on Build Your Own React
hey, thanks a lot for the donation!
pomber··on Build Your Own React
Is it because you read closer to the top or bottom of the viewport?

I want to add a print mode that would have each code step inline.

pomber··on Build Your Own React
Much less than 80%. Half of React code is optimizations, and not only speed, for a medium sized app I guess React uses less than 20% of the memory that Didact uses.
pomber··on Build Your Own React
fixed, thanks
pomber··on YouTube video has its own URL in it
Bot author here. That post was before twitter made changes on the id generation. Now it consists of four parts that you need to guess (the datacenterId, the workerId, a sequence and a timestamp). For more details, the bot repo is here: https://github.com/pomber/escher-bot
pomber··on Reconstructing Twitter's Firehose
It's not that hard: https://twitter.com/mauritscorneIis

Code is here: https://github.com/pomber/escher-bot

It's a pity that twitter UI doesn't embed the recursive tweet.

Thanks, check this issue: https://github.com/pomber/git-history/issues/22, it has links to other versions with different animations.
