Great article! I've always wondered how youtube implemented it. Love the interactive canvases too. But maybe it's just me, the canvases look blurry?

Rendering bezier curves on the client side seems reasonable. Calculating ~400 points and rendering 100 curves would not impact performance, but I wonder if these little interactions would impact performance if added up.

Funny that they stopped it. They should have prevented it from happening in the first place. It makes it hard to have a meaningful conversation about AI when one of the largest AI company acts like this.

You can render only single characters. First you need to change the HTML "max" attribute of <input> to 1.1 in the "Glyph Thresholds". And set 0.0 for the desired characters and the characters above. Set 1.1 for the remaining characters.

For example, if you only want the dash, set the dot and dash to 0.0. Then set 1.1 for the plus, ring, and cross characters.

I found couple more things to make it even more confusing:

- There is another landing page for Office(3), `m365.cloud.microsoft`. It has completely different design from `office.com`.

- "Microsoft Office" menu in the navigation bar goes to Office(2).

I can understand why they changed 'Microsoft 365 app'=Office(3) to 'Microsoft 365 Copilot'. It's probably because they refer to the apps (Word, Excel...) in Office(2) as "Microsoft 365 Apps". This probably caused confusion with "Microsoft 365 App".

So, there are 3 offices now.

- Office(1): The office we know: Word, Excel, etc. The current version is "Microsoft Office 2024" with a one-time lifetime licence.

- Office(2): Similar to Office(1), but with a subscription model. This was renamed "Microsoft 365" in 2022.

- Office(3): 'Hub' app for managing Office (1), similar to Unity Hub. This was renamed the 'Microsoft 365 app' in 2022. This was renamed the 'Microsoft 365 Copilot app' a few days ago.

Too make it more confusing:

- microsoft.com/microsoft-365/get-started-with-office-2024 redirects to Office(1).

- microsoft.com/microsoft-365/microsoft-office redirects to Office(2), stating that "Office is now Microsoft 365".

- office.com redirects to Office(3).
