Try adding "-noborder" to your launch options. (Right click on the game in your steam library > Properties > Set launch options...)

see https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Command_Line_Option... for more options (I recommend "-novid -window -noborder -high -threads <number of threads that your processor supports>")

pjob··on How does Facebook disable Developer Tools?
Ah, cool. That's a little shorter than the solution that I came up with:

  function window(){alert(1)}window()
To those of you going for the code golf record, you can save a character in STRML's solution by redefining window instead. Furthermore, the last two braces can be omitted and whitespace removed for a total of 27 characters.

The article briefly mentions a scam where a driver intentionally causes an accident to extort money. It's strangely satisfying to see this unfold: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWvG4KAYJfY
pjob··on Doom 3 BFG Edition source code released
One of my favorite things about these id source releases is getting to read Fabien Sanglard's excellent code review that inevitably follows. Here's the review of the idTech4 Doom 3 code released last November.

pjob··on Why does HN generate unique URL's for the 'more' pages?
I added a suggestion to that effect on the Feature Request thread (http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=363) a while ago, but it slipped off into the long tail of comments pretty quickly:

pjob··on Show HN: textlaundry.com
Hey, congrats on launching. The service looks interesting. I'll have to keep it in mind next time I need proofreading help.

One small piece of feedback: Your #headline-wrap and #stage-wrap styles have overflow: hidden defined while the other top level divs do not. This makes it so that when the browser is smaller than your content, scroll bars appear but your main content is hidden beyond the window width and appears cut off when scrolling.

pjob··on IE10 Platform Preview 2 Released
I am not a fan of this UI myself, but it is just a default. You can change this behavior by right clicking on the bar and checking the "Show tabs on a separate row" option.
pjob··on Change your color temperature to fix your sleep patterns
It looks like they are following the author's lead. I imagine they are trying to highlight the wordplay in the application's name. Where the light (lux) levels that your monitor gives off changes over time or is "in flux". It also makes SEO easier for a common word like flux.
pjob··on Please tell us what features you'd like in news.ycombinator
I was wondering if you could add a link to the hacker news homepage to the "Unknown or Expired Link." response that you serve up. Often I'll click more on an old page or hit back on an article I am reading and get this response. My next action is almost always to navigate to the homepage.
pjob··on Google agrees to buy ITA Software for $700 million
Bing has been doing something like this for a little while now (through their acquisition of farecast.) Check it out: http://www.bing.com/travel/flight/flexibleTravel?dm=07%2F02%...
pjob··on Reddit CAPTCHA failing?
I hesitate to post something like this on HN, but it might be relevant. There has been talk about 4chan was planning on starting up a trolling campaign on reddit involving registering a number of accounts. You might be collateral damage.
pjob··on The new Hotmail gives Gmail a run for its money
I think that you've reviewed the old hotmail.

"Microsoft wants to change that perception. Sometime this summer, it will roll out a fantastic new upgrade of Hotmail. I've been using a pre-release version of the service for a couple of weeks now, and I'm a huge fan."
