pgtan··on Bulgaria played a vital role in introducing yogurt to the West
If you are in Germany (guessing by the nickname), there is very good and inexpensive yoghurt based on live Lact. Bulg. I buy about 10 tubs every week. It's not that sour like in Bulgaria, but very tasty anyway.

Surprisingly then, why Doitsche Welle still exists without any lawsuit from abroad.

pgtan··on Introduction to logic programming with Prolog
I try to introduce my boy (12) in programming trough Scratch but still no big success. However, we solved recently two math homework exercises with Prolog (logic) and MetaPost (geometry) which caused some effect, so I'm thinking to deepen in that languages or may be switch to Logo as intermediate lisp like solution.

It's a licensed font from Blue Monday. No cyrillic, no greek, not to mention polytonic greek. And they took the true small caps out of the fonts ...

pgtan··on IBM Type
Wow, at least they included a license this time. I desperately tried years ago to get the license for the fonts shipped with the Symphony Suite, but in vain. No files, no declaration in the fonts, no answer from the IBM support.

pgtan··on Explain mathematically a video from a space station (2011)
no idea, really. Apparently the film should be already out in the Russian cinemas. There is also a documentary from Roskosmos about the operation[1]. The beginning is boring, but then they claim, the Shuttle "Challenge" visited Saljut-7 as a preparation for taking the soviet station to the Earth. Still watching it, no subtitles (my Russian is rather intermediate). There is also a book from Victor Savinikh, the flight engineer called "diaries from a dead station"[2], but couldn't find any comments on that book.

pgtan··on The Year of Linux on Everything but the Desktop
well, running heavy multiprocess pipes (netpbm, imagemagick, tesseract, TeX) in the background does not slow down the graphic apps, mainly emacs, firefox, gimp, feh, etc. Even watching a video with mplayer is mostly without any freezing. Distro is Gentoo as cleaned and lean as possibe. And this on 10 years old Opteron PCs.
pgtan··on The Year of Linux on Everything but the Desktop
I use the non-preemptive (server) scheduler on my linux desktop machines with fvwm as favorite long-time WM. At work: RHEL with dwm, which I'm starting to love, also forced to use Windos 7. Boy, this MS sh*t drives me mad. The focus stealing alone is enough to go berserk. The slowness, the deadkeys, the placement of the windows, the lack of virtual desktops...

yeah, well, same true for Multiple Master fonts. It ended up that Adobe gave the font metrics to the TeX[0] community. The complexity of the fonts was obviously too much for the "graphic designer".
