May be different for internal politics. Since people are often irrational.
Yelling one-liners at each other is the opposite of a thoughtful discussion.
That and "journalists".
And then the later think the world is made up entirely of the former.
My Twitter block list is probably 10 times as long as my follow list.
Let's not draw premature conclusions from insufficient data.
Africa however will be much more difficult as a whole. But there are individual countries that will maybe be able to benefit from it some day.
For now, it's more lucrative in most cases to "receive aid" instead of "produce things". In that sense, "aid" has similar effects as natural recourses have.
What's more important is intention. One side tries to catch murderers and sometimes does not follow due process.
The other side tries to kill off the culture of an entire people by violently "reeducation" millions of human beings.
Honestly, I find it disgusting that people here seem to be mostly fine with those crimes, and even try to defend them.
But the intention is to catch extremists, the flaw is to not follow due process.
Whereas in China, the intention is to commit cultural genocide.
the Uygurs are imprisoned based on their race. With or without trial makes no difference.
So, no, not "hypocrites".

So many people's economic and social lives have already been destroyed.
