path411··on If You Think You're Good At Multitasking, You Probably Aren't
What makes you believe that humans can't multitask?

I can move both of my hands at the same time, or rub my belly and pat my head. Both of these examples are me performing 2 functions simultaneously. I can do these because basic motor skills have become a trivial task through my years of development.

Just like muscle memory, which can be highly developed in professional athletes, I think many tasks can be developed to the point of being able to multitask (like when someone says something becomes 2nd nature, or natural reaction).

As others have mentioned, I don't think multitasking is a proficiency in itself, but rather when you become proficient enough at a task your brain can internalize and multitask it.

This just seems like a classic example of the Dunning–Kruger effect:

These actually have true meanings as Tech jargon. Biz/Marketing love to abuse buzzwords though.

Looks nice. I'm not sure if I like the semantics of the .data selector. Especially since I come from jQuery I would think of it more to do with data attributes.

That looks really good. I am not familiar with many of the sites on there, but I noticed no way of getting to HN discussions from your site. Do you think some way of reaching the discussion or comments section of some of the feeds would be helpful to others?
path411··on Why does TypeScript have be the answer to anything?
I don't think of lack of strong typing or OO features as a bug either. I think Typescript's approach of optional features added to javascript provides even more flexibility. You can choose specifically if you want strong typing or not, or you can choose to use classes if you think it's the best approach for the current project. I don't think typescript is trying to remove the options that javascript already has, otherwise they would have gone the way of coffeescript or dart. Typescript, to use the common metaphor, simply extends your toolbelt to let you pick what you want for what you need.
path411··on Why does TypeScript have be the answer to anything?
Mostly the approach that personally makes TS interesting to myself is that typescript is building on top of javascript. You don't need to convert javascript to typescript because it already is typescript. Typescript simply extends the language. Dart or coffeescript on the other hand essentially creates an entirely new language that is simply compiled down to javascript.

Google's 2 factor auth does this already.

The only functional problem with windows 8 metro I find is it's exclusiveness. I think windows 8 has a terrific UI for an application, just not for an OS. Give me windows 7 desktop where on the press of the windows key I get a windows 8 metro overlay like steam/xbox 360/ps3/etc, and I'd probably love it.

I can't wait until something like google fiber's 1Gb is standard and content like this is trivial to load.

That interface is entirely possible in a browser. Blurring the concept of software and web applications is entirely the trend that people should be pushing towards.

It is WebGL so it would require a video card.

After looking at that site I find it hard to tell if they are receiving the password they entered in the email or a randomly generated password on account creation. If the password is a generated, typically "temporary" password, there is no real indication of it being stored in plain text then.

I would also be curious with a maximum of say 1 or 2 month timeframe. If I was actually curious in an "around the world" trip, I don't think I'd want to stay 11 weeks in Germany, ha.

If the site still functions without these scripts (As it should), then there isn't much of a reason to stop visiting a site because of it.
