And. Japanese gardens. Kanban (maybe?) Toyotaism (you alluded to). Fast trains (India is getting some from Japan).
parrit··on Chain of Recursive Thoughts: Make AI think harder by making it argue with itself
Maybe. Humans form teams for a reason. Yes there are different exepriences and points of view in a human (vs. Not so much in LLM), but sometimes a different hat it all it takes. E.g. Code reviewer vs. Coder.

I want to see "Meh" vs. "Holy crap" as a benchmark in a paper published by Google. Or more likely I suspect, Andrej.

parrit··on It's Not the Incentives (2018)
The world is sinful on many levels there is a lot to change. It is hard to exist in a way that doesn't fuck someone over. If you live in the global west and participate in modern life then you are in some area definitely following a perverse inventive.

For example do you live in a building? Do you heat it? There you go. You should be in a tent. Climate change.

Have an SP500 index fund? Investing in weapons and other dystopia. Generally support globalization, regulatory capture, lobbying, bad work conditions and tax evasion over supporting small business.

Vote for one of the 2 main parties? Well done both support genocide. Protest vote? Oh then you voted for Trump in this system well done! The only moral thing is to change the constitution (fwiw) for proportional representation.

Send your kids to a good school?

The list doesn't end.

parrit··on It's Not the Incentives – It's You
If you don't follow the incentives are you out of a career?

And if so, what is the pragmatic thing to do to change things. Because getting a job in tech instead just means you swap to another set of bad incentives.

I wonder if unionizing would help?

Otherwise how does the idealist eat?

He has got to suck up to power. These tech giants look so pathetic. They could instead collude and show what power they have over the president (quite a bit really) and the good they can do to make up for their sins.

Is this something like what TiDb does with MySQL compatibility? Sounds fascinating!

Was thinking today... not a debugger but even a SQL progess bar, so I know that my add column will take say 7 hours in advance.

Oh yeah! Get a lawyer. But then that's expensive. Might as well just leave it be and hold the shares.

parrit··on 'Tech entrepreneur took our money but failed to deliver our startup dreams'
I'm a coder and got ripped off when outsourcing coding (because I didn't know the tech stack). Luckily lost $2k before I cut my losses and run. They kept begging for more money while returning buggy shit. So yeah easy to get ripped off and easy to get played. If you hire agencies (or any contractors) you need to be default asshole with rod up their ass. Milestones. Deliverables. Quality. Or no pay.
parrit··on 'Tech entrepreneur took our money but failed to deliver our startup dreams'
Lack of morals made him money. You could do the old knock on old people's houses and tell them their roof needs fixing shit. Same thing really.
parrit··on CSS Zen Garden
Even on one element you can combine tailwind classes. With styles you need to write out the final result.

Then you can also use @apply if you wish but leave that out of the argument as it is considered unidiomatic.

Of course if using React you can also use styles directly and then create your own utilities to determine how they compose. Which might give you much of the Tailwind edge without needing the compile step.

> The real fix is new opt-in modes and new tech (e.g. AI + btc)

This way of talking "new opt-in modes" reminds me of the typical LinkedIn thought leader shpiel.

But it is BS. New bubbles to fix old bubbles? Btc is zero sum. For you to buy a Lamborghini with the Bitcoin yoy got in 2012, someone else needs to pay for that with the dollars they have today.
