Reality interesting! I agree as a GenZ. I had no space that fascinated me. The Internet meant I was aware of many things I possibly shouldn't have been at a very young age. So it's harder for me to get excited about some rave or concert that's probably on YouTube. Frankly you'd be surprised at how much of my life is just 1. Computer and 2. Waiting to get back to computer.
I'm a young GenZ adult. Just woke up and got depressed seeing this headline because it reinforces what I've experienced & felt. Loneliness is inherent to the human body and soul (unless perhaps we get Neuralink or AI friends someday). I am deeply sad over all the social fantasies I never had and probably never will now that I'm a working adult.
So monumentally stupid. I am a California kid and taking algebra in 7th grade was honestly a pivotal experience in my academic life. I got ny butt kicked for the first few exams and after getting a C- I was devastated. I cried a bit to my parents and teacher and resolved myself to grind super hard on the next test. I pretty much learned all the study habits I have now from that one exam and it was frankly a great learning experience. I definitely was capable of doing algebra at 7th grade and I think we should be accelerating student's learning in public school frankly I felt I wasted a few good years of my potential stuck in school.
So agree. Comes off as super cringe. Silicon Valley has lost amy moral high ground from the early days and should act like any other corporate... "its not illegal and it would lose us money to change, why would we change it?" That would be honest, logical and frankly refreshing
Not surprised to see Mark get all defensive. It is very simple to analyze this objectively. They want to make huge profits and they want people to use FB as much as possible. Fine. That's their right. They are neither evil nor saints. Similarly, use of the service has toxic effects on many many of its users especially young ones (no matter what Mark and their team says). That's obviously not good but also must be recognised as a voluntary choice to engage in a platform that causes mental health issues. If we look at it straight, my opinion is that the solution isn't really regulation but merely that more of us need to stop using social media and parents should not allow kids to have an account until they are adults.
Seems like one of these ship may have crashed into a pipeline causing the recent oil spill. This traffic needs to be cleared quick. Shows the importance of adopting automation quicker, as that would have improve oort efficiency.
I think it's totally going to happen because China has the talent and scale to pull it off.I do think it'll be inferior to the open global tech ecosystem that benefits from open idea sharing
