In the past I would have aggreed. Nowadays where gaming monitors have freesync/or some nvidia sync mechanism(TM) refresh rates go up to 120hz or even 144hz. So the timespan is even lower to update everything.
How about Pho which relies, at least in nothern Vietnam, heavily on bone marrow? You need to cook the bones IIRC at least 12 hours until the marrow dissolves. Does the long cooking process "harm" any nutrions?
Sooooo, no details?!?! Great.
Let's predict: it's gonna be a rebranded Clevo, like all their other laptops, which for a few years work out-of-the box for Linux. That is not an System76 achievment! And yes, Clevo makes great products.
My experience is quite the contrary which makes me wonder, does it really behave so differently among systems?!? touchpad and bluetooth pairing (a2dp) are not working after suspend+resume. Notice: touchpad can be fixed with a script in /lib/sysetmd/system-sleep. Home encryption gone?!?! Why for fucks sake?!? This was one of the USPs for me to use it over Debian. Yeah it can be done manually, but for beginners this is a drawback...
Gnome has many many extensions, some of which are actually quite useful like, governors / frequency changing, visual display of caps lock, and such. IIRC these plugins/extensions are called plasmoids under KDE, right? Are those 2 plugins I described available ? I never seem to find them when I play around with KDE.
AFAIK, almost the same process is used for Bios whitelisting. Meaning, Lenovo(and I guess others) has hardwired in the bios that only secific vendors+versions off e.g. WIFI cards can be used. You would dump the bios, same as described in the article, do some magic, and write it the altered bios back. If anybody can enlighten me on the magic part, I would be very thankful.
Maybe Fiverr? You could offer a specific task for some amount of time... Or vice versa, someone has a task and you offer you service and deliver e.g. after a week, but worked 50% on it...
>I'm specifically thinking of the "Monkey wrench" puzzle from Monkey Island 2. Let's just say that as a kid, playing the French version of the game, getting past that part of the game was quite frustrating.
Touchè for the german one. Years later I finally understood the joke behind the puzzle after finding out the english/americans call that specific tool a monkey wrench. In germany we call it "engländer" (->english man) but it seems that sometimes or in someparts of germany they call it "franzose" (-> french man)...
I have a Skylake mobile CPU (i7-6700hq) and it pretty much rocks with Ubuntu 17. Also the system is stable and fast. Under heavy load, e.g. games the system is stable. Compiling a big(>10000 modules) C++ project via ninja/cmake under Qt Creator hangs the system resporducibly after ~15 minutes. I wonder now if this broken hyperthreading could be such sideffect.
At least there is web.skype.com, which works with audio + video in some cases, not all... Come on MS, since Ballmer and Gates are gone, you have shown your true potential for innovation and OSS. Just open the protocol, the community will do the rest.
Almost agree 100%, but why would you encrypt the whole disk? There is no need for that. It's 100% free software availabe for anyone. Encrypt your home directory. And this has Ubuntu figured out quite nicely IMHO.
Hold on, there is gyro ? In games I often see the option for rumble, which simply does not work for me too, same as gyro.
Maybe because I am on Linux ?
Here is not just about maps, producing them and selling those. They are also specialized into complete solutions for Car manufacturers, car suppliers for integration into HUDs for guidance etc. Inside navigation and map making is a ton of stuff which are all challenges for themself like map matching, dead reckoning, compilation of cards, map rendering etc etc... Their stuff also runs on almost every platform.
There is a mini PCI-E (as well as NGFF and Expresscard) solution or every kind of laptop, as long as you are willing to fiddle around with your notebook a bit (hardware wise)
Mine is on the way, so for now I cannot comment on the stability of the system, but I expect it to be better and easier to setup than Thunderbolt, because PCI-E is longer on the market. Sure the Thunderbolt solution is a closed one-cable thing which looks way cleaner, but I read reviews from e.g. Asus ROG EGPU users, with unstable systems. I absolutely don't want to bad mouth the Thunderbolt solution, I would love to use it, by my system does not have a port. Also, the TB dock is super expensive.
Thank you, really appreciate your answer. I have played around with mocl, CL (sbcl+sdl on OSX + Linux) and at least with Chicken in combination with doodle and the chipmunk egg to create an environment/framework for 2d platformers. It's a bit tedious because my time and knowledge reagrding OpenGL is limited but it's fun to play around with. All these Lisps + Frameworks kind of work, but you will always hit the point where it rocks for one platform, and sucks on another. There is new kid on the block, carp-lang, from the guy who developed "Else Heart.Break()". Would be cool if this becomes something worthwhile.
