Somehow, I thought 4+2 GiB of ram would suffice.
I am typing this from a phone that I am already considering replacing for this very same reason although it does everything well and I looks brand new (rubber case, screen protection, etc.).
I understand phones are harder to upgrade because space is very limited but the e-waste we're generating (and the money impact) seems something that needs to be addressed.
I'm still using my 11y/o Dell XPS which I cannot upgrade but works great.
I bought a Framework laptop for the same reason and I successfully managed to upgrade it, not repair it!
Is there a phone that allows me to upgrade over time and not only fix it?
It's part of the life cycle of many companies to hyper-hire when money flows in, and cut lots of jobs when they "re-adjust". I don't think this is good, I personally don't like it, but I learned not to be surprised anymore.
We like cloud because it scales in and out: often management don't see workforce differently.
(I often find myself in this situation, to be honest...)
How do you all stay tune of the great apps out there?
And the fact that it's not easy to use doesn't really make things better.
We don't have many in Spain, despite being quite a religious country, and I'm always intrigued.
Can we just agree on "PHP used to suck but it was very easy to work with, reason why it got traction. Things got better over the years and those that only saw the early years, rightfully only remember how much it sucked, while those that use modern versions see how much it has changed"?
This is the most important sentence, as I see it.
This will shake the sandbox. I personally hope that the community will step up with a fork.
I still think that the best way to compete is by having a more appealing product, thought, rather than changing licence. And I mean this for Hashicorp, Elastic, etc.
If you need to do this move is because you don't really succeed at having a better product, else you would just benefit from FOSS rather than it being a liability.
