Beweare, it's a bit lengthy, but hopefully, it would address some of your concerns and feedback. You can always reach out to me and the team with ideas and suggestions. Cheers!
Cheers, RSS! Here is to another 25 years (and more)!
We can’t name the port’s standard due to strict copyright limitations. Getting certified to use the name seemed like too much work.”
P.S generic type sets make it even better. I’ll write an update to my post these days.
Once you notice a good post or two, you can check the original sources and subscribe to those people directly.
You may notice that the RSS feed gets too "noisy" over time. No problem - go back to feedle and add additional keywords (or exclude some) to narrow the search.
Disclaimer: I am one of the people who originated feedle and brought it to life. Our tiny collective will be more than happy to hear your feedback!
Now seriously - we believe in building tools providing people access to information without the distractions and engagement hooks of social media. There is a sizeable segment of the popoulation that wants the same enough to sustain our product's future. Murmel is where we meet.
It wasn't long before people discovered that and began using our service to deliver relevant stories to their Slack teams and stakeholders. As the author says, RSS is the closest thing to an open MVP-style API that "just works," and hasn't been plagued by a company's closed garden rules.
I am wondering, what else could one use RSS for.
Long live RSS!
If you have a better suggestion to replace "friends" with, we'll totally take it. I mean, "people you follow on Twitter" would also work, but feels a little verbose, IMO.
P.S. Good point about checking the Twitter guidelines - we'll have a look and make sure to comply. To be fair, though, none of the competing services (including, Mailbrew, the leading one), actually do that either.
Murmel is not free, but we offer a full 30-day trial. Come check it out.
P.S. Have a look at https://murmel.social too - it's something we're building int the newsletter space as well. An effort of taking people away from doom scrolling on Twitter all day long.
It will be a good oppportunity to see how your reader renders tweets (we make a great use fo them inside the content).
One of these days, I need to sit down and write th origin story of Murmel, and how I came to it.
Cheers!
