Thanks.
orionblastar··on GitHub Banned All CI for Our (OSS) Org Because of Bad Drive-By Contributors
I have to use 2FA to log in to GitHub. How are the AI bots doing it? It was supposed to block the bots.
orionblastar··on Microsoft Activation Scripts – Activate Windows / Office / ESUs
Microsoft still has OneDrive and Cloud access with the pirated version of Office and Windows. Still, when Windows 11 is no longer being supported, I'm switching to Linux.
orionblastar··on Tlbic: A Time-Limited Basic Income System Designed with AI, v7.0
I am interested in this. Job loss led me to mental illness, and I am looking for a way out of disability. The English version is not found on Google Drive for me.
orionblastar··on I Gave an AI a Civilization to Run. It Built a Nuke – Launching CivBench
A mistake in the Civilization games is to not let Gandhi develop a nuke. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_Gandhi

All the red tape is driving billionaires away.
orionblastar··on California 'billionaire tax' makes ballot despite opposition from tech moguls
Will this force billionaires to move out of state? Then take the tech and jobs with them?
orionblastar··on Inside the Rage Machine [video]
Social Networking can be an echo chamber. Terrorist groups use it for recruiting people and training them to be violent.

orionblastar··on Ask HN: Do you remember when you gained consciousness? What was it like?
My first memory is my 3rd birthday and having Grape and Orange Nehi Soda in glass bottles. Blue boy candle holders, 3 of them, on the cake. It rained that day, and I lost my temporary tattoos on the front of the house, and the rain ruined them.
orionblastar··on What's Going on with the Web?
It could be that the apps you are using are spying on you and slowing down your experience. Try these non-spying apps: https://prism-break.org/en/
orionblastar··on People quit because reality doesn't match the movie they created in their heads
I adjust the movie in my head to reality. Adapt, overcome, and change. I'm not perfect, I am human, and I make mistakes and learn from them.
orionblastar··on If your sex life is dead, you can blame Steve Jobs
I think people use the smart devices too much. Steve Jobs limited his children on what tech they could use: https://www.cbsnews.com/sanfrancisco/news/steve-jobs-limited...
orionblastar··on Why Giving Money to Africa Makes it Poor [video][15 mins]
AID is throwing money at them, without a capitalist infrastructure to keep them earning money and circulating it in an economy so others can earn money as well. Just giving them money doesn't teach them anything but dependence; they need job skills, too.

Do you throw money at startups, or do you have hackathons to teach people how to code and get a job at a startup? Then invest the money in a startup and help it along.

orionblastar··on Why Giving Money to Africa Makes it Poor [video][15 mins]
We should be developing land, creating jobs, irrigating water sources, installing solar energy panels, and windmills. That is just to start. You can't just throw money at a problem and hope it goes away; you don't feed them fish, you teach them how to fish so they have a job and can support themselves.

Jimmy Carter warned us that we are using too much energy: https://youtu.be/XmeZc3PGezs

AI Data Centers require more power and may cause blackouts. Our electric grid is old and needs upgrading in some areas.

orionblastar··on How and Why to Fight Back Against Social Media Bans
I am banned from using PayPal, and they never gave me a clear reason other than "business risk". How do I fight back?
orionblastar··on MySQL 9.7.0 LTS Is Now Available
Great, we need more choices so we aren't stuck on MS-SQL Server.
orionblastar··on Chinese users do not like "super apps"
They are not using UX controls to their best advantage then. Room for competition that does. :)
orionblastar··on Trump Signals Interest in US Owning Stakes in Top AI Labs
More like the Post Office, I would think?
orionblastar··on Ask HN: Is Apple taking AI seriously?
AI is something Apple has fallen behind on. I heard they are doing research on how to make AI that doesn't spy on you.
orionblastar··on Chinese users do not like "super apps"
Try reading this book: https://sensible.com/dont-make-me-think/ If you made your users think, you have lost them.

You need to harden Linux: https://github.com/trimstray/the-practical-linux-hardening-g...
orionblastar··on If Windows were designed today, would the Registry exist? [video]
My mistake, it was system.dat and user.dat
orionblastar··on Ask HN: Why most of us programmers are men?
Originally, it was women who did the programming, like Grace Hopper. When the 8-Bit home computers came out, they marketed them to boys to play video games and learn to program video games. Some girls used the home computers as well, but not the majority of them. Programming was marketed to men as a career choice, so we went to college or read books on how to program, and we got jobs as programmers.

Not all programmers are men; I want to make that clear to all genders who can be programmers.

orionblastar··on Wrote that Boomers were choking America's economy. Their responses are revealing
Everything is digital now. Some restaurants don't even have a menu; you scan a QR code to open their menu on a web page. Some specials are only in the phone app. DocuSign requires an email account and cell phone number. I had to teach my mother and father in 2004 how to use Windows XP, email, and Seamonkey. They died, and I still have their IBM ThinkCenter PC. To save all their documents. I grew up using a Commodore 64, so I learned the theories behind computer science. I later went to college and earned an Information Systems and Business Management degrees.
