TeX version number asymptotically approaches pi... each new version has another digit, this also makes versions comparable. Clearly this is the better way....

nxpnsv··on Optimism, Hubris, and Strategic Misrepresentation
Incredibly wasteful, but probably less wasteful than what they already are doing :D
nxpnsv··on Optimism, Hubris, and Strategic Misrepresentation
Smart, but will it still work if one of the teams fail? And if you control for interdependencies, are the still independent teams?
nxpnsv··on Chiptune.app
You may be correct about wording, it was a life time ago and I only spoke about this in Swedish. I think one of the trackers I used called itself a chip composor, there's a nice archive of these things things (some of them quite recent) here https://dhs.nu/files.php?t=chipeditor
nxpnsv··on Chiptune.app
For me it meant sid, and a bunch of ym trackers on atari st. The mods where just chip style. That said i really loved those old chip mods
nxpnsv··on Google to explore alternatives to robots.txt
Often they have signs forbidding you to take photos in stores… i guess that’s a bit like robots.txt
nxpnsv··on Lemmy now has over 2M users across 915 instances

nxpnsv··on Ask HN: Why does Apple refuse to add window snapping to macOS?
Thanks - sounds totally worth checking it out!
nxpnsv··on Ask HN: Why does Apple refuse to add window snapping to macOS?
Seems very similar to magnet and rectangle, are there any advantages?
nxpnsv··on Ask HN: Why does Apple refuse to add window snapping to macOS?
Still useful though!
nxpnsv··on Ask HN: Why does Apple refuse to add window snapping to macOS?

nxpnsv··on Peter Singer on utilitarianism, influence, and controversial ideas
Dolphins don’t read much, and aren’t likely to engage with a moral philosopher. So it should be no surprise that Singer reaches out to a more receptive human audience…

I love how WezTerm feels consistent between my Linux and Mac machines. Lua config took me a while to figure out, but keeping it simple works well...

nxpnsv··on Generating Music Tracks with Unified Representation and Diffusion Framework
You had enough time to write this elaborate reply to my post, you must be loaded...
nxpnsv··on The Open Buddhist University
I don't know much about Buddhism, but that thing sure is no University. However, maybe this is missing the point. As you are qualified, what do you think about the content? Would this be a good place for me to learn about Buddhism?
nxpnsv··on Generating Music Tracks with Unified Representation and Diffusion Framework
There millions of musicians way more accomplished than me. But in no way do they stop me from enjoying noodling around with sound. Meanwhile, a lot of our most famous artists employ massive teams to helping them make tracks. Yet, still there are passionate creatives doing amazing stuff. I don't think creativity is over quite yet.
nxpnsv··on Ligatures in programming fonts: hell no (2019)
Hmm, maybe suboptimal for publishing. That said most publications i read have no code but beautifully rendered equations. I find these more efficient at getting the point across than code… but i guess mileage vary
nxpnsv··on Ligatures in programming fonts: hell no (2019)
When I check someones your code and edit it, I get plain text - no ligatures, fonts, highlighting, themes, etc are included. I don't know what dev setup forces visual choices on coders, but that sounds like bad idea...
