nusaru··on ToaruOS 2.0
From an old FAQ page[1] for TauruOS:

> I wrote ToaruOS at a time when I was much more competent at C than C++. I still think that's true. At this point, the effort of rewriting datastructures to make use of C++ functionality would not be a good use of time - and writing userspace code in C++ in ToaruOS-NIH is not yet possible as I have yet to get a C++ standard library set up.

2011 is late? Or are you referring to OSes in general?

I wonder if perhaps this is also a generational thing. Programmers from before syntax highlighting became popular would be less likely to prefer it, no? I’m not even sure if programmers from current/recent generations ever prefer not to have syntax highlighting, but I’m genuinely curious if there are such people out there.
nusaru··on Beware of fast-math
Personally I’m a fan of Kotlin’s “fun factory()”

I don't find it that confusing. Parameter names are usually longer than one character.

Is it just me or is monospace text unpleasant to read? Obviously that’s not the case when I’m writing code, so maybe I’m not used to reading normal prose in mono typeface?
nusaru··on Esbuild – An extremely fast JavaScript bundler
Some section titles from the FAQ[1]:

> Why is esbuild fast? > - It's written in Go and compiles to native code. > - Parallelism is used heavily. > - Everything in esbuild is written from scratch. > - Memory is used efficiently.

> Production readiness > - Used by other projects > - API stability > - Only one main developer > - Not always open to scope expansion

Aaron Swartz did not die in prison. He committed suicide. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Swartz

Hi, thank you for your podcast. I've been enjoying this episode so far, and I'm at the point where the transcript says "[inaudible 00:37:20]". I think Andrew says "Kris Tate", short for Kristopher Tate.

Coming from C, it's a bit better than nothing at all.
nusaru··on A GPIO Driver in Rust
I feel that this would be a tad bit easier to read with syntax highlighting.
nusaru··on Google turned me into a serial killer
> mostly white males

What is this supposed to imply, exactly?
