Good news about the Linux emulation though
Frameworks is not just some hyped up abstraction layer. Advanced frameworks offer advanced functionality for advanced projects. They really do.
They have standardized certain ways of doing things, structuring complex web applications and solving problems.
I completely agree about using a framework to build a personal blog is overkill in many ways, but don't blame the framework for that. Just like you shouldn't blame the saw for being bad at hammering in nails.

I actually took the time to read through that looong post and read through his massive dumps of completely irrelevant logs and code dumps.
Only to find that there was not a single case of the tiktok app using anything but the official OS API on both iOS and Android.
Not a single case. And yet the post generated this common belief that it was straight up malware thst would hijack your device.
They did use the API to the fullest, just as most major social apps do, but there was not a single example of the app going beyond that.
I hate tiktok, and hate how China is violating human rights. But I am not going to indulge myself in lies to further that sort of agenda.
Come join the happy world off Linux if you want to avoid that sort of corporate control

So they also struggled with wealthy people bending the rules to their will even back then. The same is true today with large parts of the forces behind the "reopen" movement in the US.
But how would I go about monitoring which ports are being scanned on Linux?
No tool doing this comes to mind
I would argue that any major Linux distro at this point "just work" just as well as MacOS
at least use VSCodium as it is a community-driven, freely-licensed binary distribution of Microsoft’s editor VSCode
