I have a Tapo camera which from all the cats parading from my yard, only one black cat is recognized as a person. Not other cats. Not even other black cats. It makes you think.
I remember having integer variables in Amstrad CPC (Locomotive) Basic. Something with the % symbol.
edit: ChatGPT says that BBC BASIC and TRS-80 Microsoft BASIC also supported integer variables with % declaration.
Hey! I woke up at 06:00 to check what was wrong with a service. It turned out, a server in Germany could not reach a server in Finland in the 20" timeout I had set.
Same experience in Turkey a month ago. The exposed wires everywhere in the hotel complex should give me a clue. Also following a smell I ended up in a burned down apartment , not really a surprise given the amount of negligence in everything electrical I've seen there.
For another data point, as kids in Greece we made fun of our friend who first switched to a PC, (we had Atari STs). Even after he got a Sound Blaster and a VGA card we still had better games like Kick Off and Dungeon Master. But one day he invited us to his house and showed as Wolfenstein. I distinctly remember the feeling. It was over!
We had PC emulators on the 68000 based Atari ST in the 80s. No extra hardware needed, but very slow! And I'm sure that emulators was a thing from the very first computers.
The ai-cli library detects programs that offer interactive command-line editing through the readline library, and modifies their interface to allow obtaining help from a GPT large language model, such as OpenAI's or one provided through a llama.cpp server. Think of it as a command line copilot.
Kind of trapped in a large project. Started in Turbo Pascal in 1994, ported to Delphi, and we're still working on it. Maybe will finally have to port it to something else if WASM support is not added soon. I like the language because it's readable, yet as powerful and close to the metal as C++. Not so happy with the pricing model though.
So, there is the theoretical possibility that there could be a Google Play store on iOS, or an Apple App Store on Android!
Interesting even as a thought.
