I completely second byoung2's comment. When we say email , the thing we refer to would be free email services for personal use or inbox hell at work. The same question without Gmail,Yahoo mail and other is easier to answer.

If we are being bombarded by tech news and most of the press releases are tech startups raising capital in SV or other valley like places, then the "so many entreprenuers raise VC " idea gets traction

Also the process to get private capital and the dumb money at a high ( albeit cooling off a bit)

The thing that is lacking is a review for products and not a clear track record for what a person has accomplished. Enterprise software sales are hard and I would say having a funnel mindset and leveraging personal connections works best.( like the previous commentor)

I would recommend the rest of my previous post. Online communities will get peoples attention, and at best they are a large opening to a funnel.

If you have friend well versed in law /lawyer get them to help. For starting out legalzoom should help

You are already on the right path. Communities like hackernews and product hunt are good for early adopters Quora,FB groups and meetups are next. Online SEO AdWords will get you some traffic. Best would be have ambassadors/refferars Communities in the real world that cater to your product or service are better for RoI

I would say look at indiehackers and see if there is something similar you want to do. Also why not join someone else s project? Collaborate on something that's close to your vision get them to sales and voila.
