nmat··on Privacy – Forget Your Credit Card
In Portugal we have had this service for many years and it works regardless of the bank (https://www.mbnet.pt in portuguese). Most people I know always generate one of these cards for online shopping, it's safer and easier to control.
nmat··on $ cat ~/myfile | curl -X PUT --upload-file “-” https://transfer.sh/myfile.txt
The pipe is into curl, has nothing to do with the website itself
nmat··on Why I Strive to be a 0.1x Engineer
If you want to post animated gifs and embed youtube videos you can't use IRC. Everything depends on the requirements. To find the right solution you have to understand what your client needs, not what he thinks he needs.
nmat··on Why I love Snapchat
The bad UI generates a sort of viral effect. I know a lot of young kids who use snapchat and often the conversation starts with 'How did you do that effect on that video?' or 'How do you send a text message without a picture?'. Snapchat is one of few apps that has a lot of hidden features for power users that are not explained anywhere. I am not saying that it is a good thing, but it makes people talk about it.
nmat··on Firefly – Full Text Search Engine for Dropbox
It's server side encryption, they still can access your files. That's how they generate thumbnails for example.
nmat··on A spreadsheet in fewer than 30 lines of JavaScript, no library used
You may like, but it is an obvious security flaw. A 'real' product couldn't have this feature, at least not the way it is implemented here.
nmat··on Using Historical Data To Rank The Top Magic: The Gathering Cards
Besides, fetch lands allow you to dry your deck. After you use a fetchland you are less likely to draw a land card.
nmat··on Why Ruby for startups?
Note that this poll is 4 years old. You should add the year when you link to such content.
nmat··on A fast and static web server for serving web apps
Without HTTPS in the main site that is mostly useless
nmat··on Ultimate Tic Tac Toe
I got confused with the notation so I used paintbrush: http://imgur.com/a/tZPjl

The standard strategy (without optimization) seems to work perfectly. You gain control by forcing the oponent to fill out the miniboards. The last move on the second exhausted miniboard will allow you to choose any miniboard, so it's an easy win.

EDIT: like 3pt14159 pointed out, O might cause you problems if he immediately picks the center in the NW miniboard. This needs further testing...

nmat··on Show HN: Wifis.org - making WiFi networks 'social'
It's completely different. FONERA aims at creating a global network of free wifi everywhere. To participate you need to buy a FONERA router. Wifis.org is simply a way to communicate with the wifi network owner. You just need to rename your SSID and your neighbors can now email you.
nmat··on [dead]
Personally I don't like spaces because every now and then I find a service that doesn't accept them - ex: you can't have spaces in your IRC password. ASCII printable characters are enough for me.
