nilslindemann··on O&O ShutUp10 – The antispy tool for Windows 10 and 11
It is not listed in the Linux Mint App Installer. The Portables downloaded from Sourcefoge do not work. Can it filter-as-you-type the file list? Does it have chainable script button bars? Is there a poweful rename tool? Can it look pretty (example: https://i.imgur.com/tLt5B1m.png)?

I tested these things and the results were not so great. Also, if I need to emulate my OS under wine, then I can as well just use it directly.

The only Linux Software I miss on Windows is Timeshift. Thats not enough.

Edit: I just have set up root login on Linux Mint. Okay, thats actually not much more difficult than on Windows.

You may also check out https://github.com/flick9000/winscript. It has a GUI, but generates a powershell script.

https://github.com/ramensoftware/windhawk is also worth mentioning, I use it to unfuck the Taskbar.

Fine, I will switch when your OS has Autohotkey, Total Commander, and allows me to log in as Administrator.

Curious, how would look that in Python?
nilslindemann··on Our Servants Will Do That for Us
Because people die and new people get born, and those will grow up one day playing games with their house roboter.
nilslindemann··on Our Servants Will Do That for Us
Agreed, that will take a few generations. We can start today and tell every kid that the work-all-day-cake is a lie.

According to Castaneda, what you call a "ruler" is merely a person who has already succumbed to the warrior's second enemy (fear, power, clarity, death). Such failed figures may disrupt the natural flow of things for a time, but ultimately, all that remains of them is a Wikipedia lemma. New tools and environmental conditions, by contrast, have a profound impact on human evolution.
nilslindemann··on Our Servants Will Do That for Us
The basic plan (figure out the details yourself):

1) We make a list of things all humans without work need daily, to survive.

2) We calculate how many work hours are needed to make these things.

3) We divide these hours by the number of humans who have no work (and therefore can not buy these things).

4) Every one of those humans works that number of hours to get these things.

5) Over time, we improve the workflow, getting the amount of work hours closer towards zero, but people still get the same things.

6) Above that, free markets and luxury, as people desire, with the usual rules keeping the playing field clean.

The difference to the system we have now is that now the system wants (or needs, due to compound interest) people to work AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. My plan wants people to work AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE BUT AS MUCH AS NECESSARY.

Yes. And I’ll be waiting for you on the terrace of a Dutch coffee shop, gazing at the evening sun over the sea, with a chessboard on the table, a joint in my left hand and a cup of coffee in my right, while jazz plays.

> “Drudgery” and “meaningful work”.

The future is not: The computers do the boring work and we do the fun work. The future is: the computers do the work and we have hobbies.

> we prefer solipsistic convenience over human relationships

If we would not like to be with other humans, we would not have sex with them, dance with them, play chess with them, go into a restaurant with them, smoke a bong with them, climb on and then basejump from a mountain with them.

nilslindemann··on Copyright does not protect AI-generated content in EU
Actually, in Germany, copyright remains with the author and their heirs until seventy years after the author's death; it cannot be sold or given away, even if someone paid them doing it. Instead, there is "Verwertungsrecht" or "Nutzungsrecht" ("License", "Usage right"). In the USA, copyright can be sold completely to another legal entity.

The text entry of the Google AI is a catastrophe. Not scalable, sometimes text lines are half hidden, the cursor disappears on empty lines, it eats line breaks after sending the text. I reported it via mail, Google never answered.
nilslindemann··on Codeberg Divides
Considering the fact that AI-written code is the future, Codeberg has damned itself to be a niche project forever.

It may be interesting to have it immediately insert the words, even if they are wrong, and when a sentence is finished, replace what has been written with the final corrected sentence.
nilslindemann··on .self: A new top-level domain designed to support self-hosting
States could grant such domains when individuals register their identity, for example, "klaus-mueller-<close eyes say first word that comes to your mind>.self". It runs on a VPS, and it is well documented how to create and run a website on that. School kids are introduced to it. Would be an excellent entry point into digital sovereignty for citizens.

Apologies for the late reply. It’s nice that you take the time to read things on Facebook. I don’t. I suggest you read through your sentences again and recognize the mumbo jumbo you’ve cobbled together there. Good luck.

It may be a necessary mechanism to prevent harm, but it is not free speech. Whenever you are lying you are not a free being, because you need to invest a part of your energy to uphold the lie.
