submissions comments There goes one career option for laid off SWEs
Gotta start at some tree depth..
My friends at Google hate AI coding with passion. I have some theories as to why. But anyone here venture a guess?
Exactly. Which is why businesses want to get rid of middle management, since middle managers thrive on having HC
lol this. No one wants to admit this when it comes to explaining why AI adoption is slow
Anecdotally perplexity scaled back their plans to sell ads, because no one was interested in..
What is this, tools for Claude web app?
Meta observation: this has to be the third most hated rally I have seen, only topped by Tesla and EVs in 2020 and crude oil in 2007
Was expecting MIT license but disappointed. If not there’s plenty of established “OSS” options.
Sounds like smr is the answer
And no, solving that with solar panels with lithium batteries isn’t the answer.
Loving the cynicism. Just proves we are early in the nuclear energy transition.
Why ever try building new things with that mindset?
That’s why we have SMRs
because an ordinary program is deterministic, LLM is probablistic + it has some synthetic-reasoning ability
Obviously a meat brain is incomparable to a LLM - they are different types of intelligence. Any sane person wouldn't claim a LLM to be conscious in the meat brain sense, but it may be conscious in a LLM way, like the duration of time where matrix multiplications are firing inside GPUs.
It’s all just a narrative needed to pump & dump. Including AI
Haven’t used Ghostty but why is HN putting it on front page every other week? What’s the main attraction to it
Kids soft these days complaining about 3% down days /s
I tried their pro version then cancelled after realizing it’s worse than Claude Code
The beauty of Meta is that they can just fake engagement metrics. Not defending them, just knowing that they do
Last time I checked 99% of normies are still happily scrolling FB and Instagram
I highly recommend companies to keep it simple and use n8n with Gemini for OCR. You will save money and get 90%+ of the same functionality as products like this.
Not sure about that. There's Llamaindex and plus many other document orchestration frameworks
Basically a manufactured China-backed scheme leveraging TikTok
fully aware that OcR and IDP has been around, but the “AI native” versions are pretty saturated too
Developers will complain if LLM agents start asking too many questions though
Just how many IDP / document processing “AI” startups are out there?
What’s with the windmill plug? It’s not even the same cateogry
Just enjoy it if you can’t avoid it
