newsreader··on Show HN: Web site I built last night that takes screenshots of web sites
Great site and thanks for sharing. http://Site2Pic.com also mentioned in this thread works just fine.
newsreader··on Ask HN: Why the Microsoft hate?
I visit Hacker News throughout the day and couldn't agree with you more. The dislike for anything having to do with MS is undeniable. I like HN and have apps installed on my Android tablet and on my Nokia Windows phone (best phone IMO).
newsreader··on Introducing TogetherJS
Last time I checked IE was free.
newsreader··on Introducing TogetherJS
Bookmarked the site; I will be looking into this one latter on today.
newsreader··on Introducing TogetherJS
Today, IE users are not using TogetherJS. And if TogetherJS doesn't get it's act together they won't be using it tomorrow either. I have four browsers installed on my computer and everything I develop has to work on all four; one of them happens to be IE 10.
newsreader··on Introducing TogetherJS
Too bad it doesn't support IE10. I was already brainstorming how to implement but will have to wait for something else...
newsreader··on GoDaddy, Media Temple, and the Horrible World of Web Hosting
I'm definitely in the minority here but I just don't see how "GoDaddy is a horrible company run by horrible people selling horrible products." I dealt with GoDaddy in the past and have an active account with them. I think that their prices are reasonable and their customer service is good enough – at least for me. I do find that navigating through their website is a pain and definitely not designed for a non-technical person, but that alone doesn’t make it horrible.

You don't? How many people do you guess were involved in the project? Divide the $600m by that number of people and you tell me if the cost is reasonable.
newsreader··on To my daughter's high school programming teacher
Are you serious? You want a HS teacher to teach Java?
newsreader··on In 8 months at Microsoft, I learned these things
You can work 24x7 as far as I'm concerned. Just don't expect others to do the same.
newsreader··on Ask HN: Are there any children's websites that teach coding or coding concepts?

newsreader··on A $4.99 utility that might just have saved Windows 8
I don’t consider myself an average user but I do own an Acer Aspire with a touch screen and I love it. My wife and my granddaughter are both pretty average users and they both prefer the touch screen. I will never buy a laptop without touch screen capabilities until something better comes out.
newsreader··on Cosmo: A free Metro-inspired theme for Bootstrap
Nice. I been looking for something like this: clean and simple...
newsreader··on Introducing Outlook.com - Modern Email for the Next Billion Mailboxes
Lot's of trouble. Had to validate my account by having them send me a code number via phone and then typing it into their page.
newsreader··on Microsoft Research shows off see-through 3D display
All I can say is: Amazing! What's next? Minority Report user experience?
