I switched from a late-2015 Macbook Pro (some say this is the last time a MB Pro was good) to a Thinkpad T480s w/ Fedora 28. My workflow on Mac was fairly simple -- sublime text, npm, git, and a web browser -- so my transition was probably smoother than most (although I now use VS Code instead of Sublime Text and I don't think I'll be going back).
The biggest pain point for me was losing the Apple trackpad. I loved the 3-swipe gesture to switch between workspaces and although I have shortcuts for this on my new xfce desktop environment it just isn't the same. I did, however, fall in love with the Thinkpad trackpoint (nub). I'm having a few minor issues that I still need to work out (like my screen not locking when I close the lid), but overall I'm really happy with my decision so far.
I guess you could say any book on Stoicism, really, as the others I would mention also fit that bill.
Best decision I've made this year
Edit: Been at 100% for 10 minutes. Much, much better. If anyone knows how to set default zoom on Firefox it'd be greatly appreciated.
