necrodome··on Ask HN: Are freelancer sites (e.g. Odesk, Elance) useless?

Your profile doesn't contain email information.

Would you consider hiring remote developers?

necrodome··on Why Twilio Wasn’t Affected by Today’s AWS Issues
This post would be better if they gave more concrete examples of their infrastructure. I read the whole post and still don't know how they survived except some knowledge about distributed system design.

necrodome··on Ask HN: Should we agree that this account will submit all Who is Hiring posts?
I wrote a simple script generating rss feeds to follow these postings more easily from my rss reader. The url for a feed is in the form of http://whoishiring.heroku.com/rss/post_id

e.g http://whoishiring.heroku.com/rss/2391828

It captures the parent comments. Maybe you can include a link as well in your posts?

necrodome··on A Missing Link in Start-Up Ideas: "Insights"
Any recommendations to a programmer for a reading list?
necrodome··on Larry Page: smart, highly focused, strong-willed
And here is his profile from the previously linked The New Yorker article:

"He is a very private man, who often in meetings looks down at his hand-held Android device, who is not a comfortable public speaker, who hates to have a regimented schedule, who thinks it is an inefficient use of his time to invest too much of it in meetings with journalists or analysts or governments."

necrodome··on Bingo Card Creator (etc) Annual Report
Do you ever feel like you should be working on bigger, more important projects and you are wasting your time with current ones? (by important, i mean impacting more people's lives on large scale). And how do you approach what to work on?
necrodome··on My Y Combinator interview.
what did you tell them when they said 'i have already bookmarks in my browser'?

i started hacking on a similar idea (a chrome extension that monitors every url I visit and logs them with a web service that performs snapshots and full text searches), but then realized chrome's history already performs full text searching.

necrodome··on Let’s Crate – from weekend project to registered company in two weeks.
is it just me who finds drag&drop is harder than selecting files for file-uploading?

Maybe it's just my workflow but every time i have to use drag&drop for a webpage, i have to align file-browser and web-browser manually. I find it cumbersome.
