ndnxhs··on Dry.io wants to democratize software development using AI
You could label anything AI. Might as well call my if statement AI
ndnxhs··on Dry.io wants to democratize software development using AI
I read the article but didn't watch the video but isn't this essentially code generation/metaprogramming that we already have? In rails you don't have to write a fraction of the code that actually runs because its generated for you.

Also the AI part is very worrying. To me this sounds like a programming language where no one exactly knows what the rules are and every update to the training model could break everything. Imagine trying to debug an issue when there is no documentation or any knowledge on what is going on.

ndnxhs··on Leading with Wikipedia: A brand proposal for 2030
They already have costs vastly below other projects of their size
ndnxhs··on Universal Binaries Using WASM
Browsers already auto update
ndnxhs··on FastMail loses customers, faces calls to move over anti-encryption laws
As long as they never silently introduce a backdoor in to the js app you are running. These new laws are purely to give the legal power for the government to request that.
ndnxhs··on FastMail loses customers, faces calls to move over anti-encryption laws
Fastmail does offer any services that are affected by this law. Existing laws allow the government to get your data. Email is unencrypted so the government can get it. The law only affects things like proton mail because now the government can request you backdoor the encryption.
ndnxhs··on The Mate X is Huawei’s 5G foldable
So this is the new phone fad? I have never felt the need to fold my phone. It seems like the phone industry invents pointless changes just to show something new to get people to buy a phone again. Curved edges and screen notches come to mind.
ndnxhs··on Drafting Only Men for the Military Is Unconstitutional, Judge Rules
At least that way the people affected get to decide what happens rather than being tools in some pointless political dick waving contest.

I'm very much against war but if there was impending danger locally I would sign up to sit near the beach and shoot down any danger coming my way.

ndnxhs··on Drafting Only Men for the Military Is Unconstitutional, Judge Rules
Just make all the politicians go to war. See how their decisions change.
ndnxhs··on Drafting Only Men for the Military Is Unconstitutional, Judge Rules
So now the war has been prevented. Seems like a good solution.
ndnxhs··on Recruit Is Japan’s Top Contender for Global Internet Domination
Just another rent seeker
ndnxhs··on Trolls Are Real
Government funded. Drug research is an obvious benefit to every single person.
ndnxhs··on YouTube Demonetizes Anti-Vaccination Videos
There is no other platform. No one else could afford to run youtube. Google is practically giving it out for free. Video hosting is too expensive.
ndnxhs··on Upvote for HN Darkmode?
As OP pointed out. Reading in the dark is the problem to begin with. Dark mode themes are a poor workaround for the real problem.
ndnxhs··on COI – Chat Over IMAP
The point is no one would try to make Linux because someone already tried hurd
ndnxhs··on OnionShare 2 adds anonymous dropboxes
Is there any way to use it without it being painfully slow?
ndnxhs··on Samsung’s Foldable Phone Is the $1,980 Galaxy Fold
So they will be able to engineer it to fail exactly around the time the next Samsung phone comes out.
ndnxhs··on What I've Learned from Hacker News (2009)
To me a website that grows too much is dead. Reddit has reached that phase now. Started out great but has turned in to Facebook
ndnxhs··on WiFi Hides Inside a USB Cable
That's the same as regular fake keyboard usbs. The WiFi has no advantage here
ndnxhs··on WiFi Hides Inside a USB Cable
You can do all of that without WiFi. How is an attacker with no vision of the screen any more useful than a script that can auto type a command to get remote access?
ndnxhs··on WiFi Hides Inside a USB Cable
Unless the attacker is able to view the screen somehow then this is pretty useless. Or at least no more useful than fake keyboards without WiFi.
ndnxhs··on We Lost Our Ability to Mend
Our society systematically encourages people to throw away and buy new things. Its an absolute disaster.
ndnxhs··on They Thrive on All-Meat Diet (1929)
Its not my beliefs. I'm just pointing out that the simple act of strictly regulating your diet will almost always make you healthier because you have to watch what you eat and avoid crap like takeaway
ndnxhs··on They Thrive on All-Meat Diet (1929)
There are also people who report things for almost everything. All of this anacdotal data is next to worthless.
ndnxhs··on Skype contact lists may have been exposed (2017)
Privacy is part of security. I think what you mean is the integrity is OK.
ndnxhs··on Apple fails to block porn and gambling “enterprise” apps
Sell the development tools then and allow people to make their own. Then the market will quickly work out if its worth it or build an open source version.
ndnxhs··on Don't hold users hostage, facilitate their exit
I usually take that time to fill the comments box with a huge list of all the ongoing bugs, all the missing features and things that have annoyed me.
ndnxhs··on Brave browser can inject headers in HTTP requests
If I was ever trying to scrape a website that blocked my user agent I would just set the user agent to chrome on windows. Every library I have used supports setting whatever UA you want.
ndnxhs··on Brave browser can inject headers in HTTP requests
Honestly the user agent string should just be removed. The correct way to use it seems to be do not do anything with it so why does it still exist.
ndnxhs··on Brave browser can inject headers in HTTP requests
Twitter on Firefox android keeps giving me an error saying I have been rate limited and other Firefox users have reported the same. With how horrible twitter is I assume this is a problem on their side.
