nadermx··on Show HN: FirstEmployee.ai – Start a Business
I've updated the copy, but basically it's trying to simplify the idea to product to launch and also promote it/tweak/pivot till you find a product market fit.
nadermx··on Show HN: FirstEmployee.ai – Start a Business
I'll work on a clearer copy. But basically you sign up, tell it an idea, or if you don't have one. It profiles you and builds one for you.

Then you can tell it to fix/tweak/change improve it/iterate. Shows you a live subdomain with your idea.

Can bring your own domain/existing site too. I'll make that a bit more clear too.

You can then chose to have us run ad buys on your site, accept payments, etc.

Its like a drug. The highs are the highest, the lows are the lowest; and it seems the only way to win it is to not play.
nadermx··on Our position on open-weights models
This reads like a child who lost and now wants his mommy and daddy to punish the kid who beat him. To quote rounders, "He beat (you)... Straight up... Pay him... Pay that man his money."
nadermx··on The Odyssey Leaked on X: Bootleg Seen by Millions in Hours Before Takedown
Sibling comment "It got taken down so obviously they handle DMCA like any other platform." Is in fact right. Not sure why I cant vouch for it or upvote.

Regardless, the DMCA is made so the copyright holder polices' their own copyright.

Just because X chooses to follow what Twitter faught for, which is following the law, not some extra agreements of upload filters, which ironically stifle potential fair use, like youtube, or causes un required licencing agreements due to litigation threat, parent seems to confelate that as in injustice, when in fact its backwards, they dont actually know if its the right's holder who uploaded it first untill they get a take down notice.

nadermx··on Judge approves $1.5B Anthropic settlement for pirated books used to train Claude
It's basically many pages refuting parent's comments framing of "It's pretty easy to validate that everything they're saying is accurate." given the PDF opening is:

"On September 8, 2003, the recording industry sued 261 American music fans for sharing songs on peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing networks, kicking off an unprecedented legal campaign against its own customers.1 Four years later, the recording industry has filed, settled, or threatened, legal actions against well over 20,000 individuals.2 "

Which paints a different picture.

How is that classifed as a summary? Cursory search, https://w2.eff.org/IP/P2P/riaa_at_four.pdf

Weird, what about this? https://w2.eff.org/IP/P2P/riaa_at_four.pdf

This case did at least shed light on the fair use argument.

Thanks, went ahead and fixed the translation issue.

Working on getting direct nic pricing over time

nadermx··on Show HN: NS6 – Find your perfect domain
Njalla states in their terms that the domain is registered under their name. Domains registered under NS6 are in fact registered under your name, not NS6. Therefor making you the owner of them. Since that's how ICANN rules work.

"We register and manage domain names on your behalf through Dynadot, an ICANN-accredited registrar."

means we are acting as a registration service or reseller. In practice:

Dynadot is the ICANN-accredited registrar. NS6 is facilitating the registration and managing it for you. You are the registrant if your name (or your company) is listed in the registrant contact information.

Namecheap for example, started this way instead of using dynadot, used enom, https://forumweb.hosting/14401-is-namecheap-com-an-enom-rese...

or in short; Yes.

nadermx··on Show HN: NS6 – Find your perfect domain
It's not the domain that makes the site. It's the site that makes the domain. Nice site.
nadermx··on Show HN: NS6 – Find your perfect domain
Sure. And if I follow your logic, only godaddy should be the only registrar that exists. No need for competition, diffrent ux, diffrent domains, etc.
nadermx··on Show HN: NS6 – Find your perfect domain
Every new idea starts small. The prices will keep going down as we are able to register directly with the nic's, so it should be on par sooner or later with all the big ones. Also going to try and have it populate all the expired/dropping from all the providers so its easy to bid on a domain if its dropping on say dropcatch, dynadot, etc.

Nope, but he does have a part of this.
nadermx··on Texas wins court order to suspend domain name for violating age-verification law
I guess by default all .com's have US jurisdiction? Because even if it's a default judgment, and the registrar is based out of the US, which seems to the case here, any court order from the US is able to take a domain down.

Found the case, https://law.justia.com/cases/federal/appellate-courts/ca9/07...

The Ninth Circuit held that the U.S. court had jurisdiction to proceed because VeriSign—the registry for all .com domains—was located in the United States.

nadermx··on My midlife crisis Corolla is fast, furious, and modded
Man, he nails it when he talks about that car culture era. I bought myself a 300zx twin turbo as my first car back then.

The experiences I had driving around in that thing were amazing.

Also though, was short lived. Was young and stupid, wrapped it around a tree shortlty after, never viewed driving the same.

nadermx··on New York City to ban deceptive subscription practices
The irony with all this, is if a company makes it difficult to cancel their subscription, it's probably not a good product. Antidotically, I've found that making it easy for users to not only cancel, but refund, has given me eye opening things to fix in some products that made it so less people cancelled or refunded. So I try to always err on best user experience.
nadermx··on We're extending access to Fable 5 on all paid plans through July 12
Sure not the best user experience. But maybe they thought compute was gonna be more, or maybe fable helped them optimize under load.

Well here we have a product market fit issue. See the market was lead to believe that if you got a degree you got a job.

So learning was never the actual goal.

Originally, at least in premis, it was to learn and advance the arts and sciences.

So what we need now is a college for llm's to advance the arts and sciences.
