I have side projects in Rust, Javascript, C and many other languages. I've worked back end, front end, embedded, built massive web-scale distributed systems and one off prototypes.
Yes I'm short apple (as of August 2025 $206 average price)
If you don't have the firmware source and an unlocked bootloader you're only renting the device.
I suppose normal GNU/Linux might have this issue as well if you run an OS with lots of background services that randomly consume large amounts of RAM or if your desktop environment does. I don't so outside of kind of insane environments like raspberry pi zeros or weird situations on servers I don't typically run into this. (and no. It's not 2010, phones are normal PCs not a weird embedded environment.)
The question is of course which 80%.
There's no reason to think too much about it, there's not that much to learn unless you want to make them yourself and the market for that is tiny.
I will say the agent thing is mostly overrated if you already know how to program. You're much better off building scraping software like that the old fashioned way (or prompting an LLM to do it) than leaving an LLM unattended.
Whatever personal policy resulted in expressing this idea is not only broken for you but it's literally tearing everything else apart. You should try to figure out what that is or avoid posting about this topic.
Also man has "apropos" for search. It works pretty well IME.
The federal government now accepts donations if you don't want the money.
We need something like the salvage law.
I'm always surprised when corporate IT departments allow that given what's not allowed these days.
The things I've enjoyed writing the most have always been components "good practice" would say I should have used a library for (HTML DOM, databases) but I decided to NIH it and came up with something relatively pleasant and self contained.
When I use LLMs to generate code it's usually to interface to some library or API I don't want to spend time figuring out.
Realistically tabs are best when you're alone and spaces are better when you're collaborating IMO.
The independent maker thing is probably the solution to this.
Yes.
This should have been done long ago but now it's creating problems even for the government. There is no legitimate reason for non-free firmware.
