mrspandex··on foo@bar.com is a real email address
I'd think you'd have to expect this when you set up that email account.

(Also, it wasn't enough to spam them, now we DDoS them)

mrspandex··on The Facebook Phone: It's Finally Real and Its Name is Buffy
My Windows Phone uses Facebook contacts to augment my contact list and integrates their Twitter and Facebook updates, shows my Facebook photo albums, and allows me to check in or post updates to Facebook and Twitter. I'm sure Android/iOS offer similar functionality.

What more could a Facebook phone launched this late in the game really offer other than lock-in?

mrspandex··on Announcing Cappuccino 0.9.5
And here I thought all the coffee names were stolen by Java...

mrspandex··on Castle.so Upload and share your files, beautifully.
I see a castle and what looks like a sunset behind it. I'm not sure what I should see, but I don't think that's it.
mrspandex··on Castle.so Upload and share your files, beautifully.
This doesn't seem to work in Opera
mrspandex··on Googlebot is Chrome
The title made me think Chrome was acting as a sort of distributed Googlebot. Although the technology would be awesome, the privacy implications would be huge.
mrspandex··on Google+ is now available with Google Apps
I wish Google would just allow my normal Google account to be associated with a domain for Gmail...
mrspandex··on Nest - The Learning Thermostat
How much does this thing cost? The store seems to be down.
mrspandex··on Nest - The Learning Thermostat
There's a section in there that talks about switching it from heat to cool when the seasons change. I don't know if that's more of a suggestion to this device or not, but something tells me it's that same damn heat/cool switch.
mrspandex··on Starting is easy. Finishing is hard. Finish something at Finish Weekend.
But you could always book cruises!
mrspandex··on Lytro cameras are ready for preorder.
I really like their idea of a facebook app that lets my friends play with the focus. Stroke of marketing genius if you ask me.

mrspandex··on I want to solve the uploads problem
A worthy goal, I often shy away from accepting uploads if I can due to many of these issues. A couple questions though:

-When I upload files, are you serving them infinitely, or just caching them so I can fetch them from my server?

-Are there any x-domain issues here? Can it work over SSL?

mrspandex··on Can Microsoft Salvage Windows Phone?
I agree - I'm a proud owner of a Windows phone, but it was hard to even find a store that sold one. I wonder if having the Metro UI in Windows 8 will help Microsoft out with a little cross-pollination.
mrspandex··on Imagine if your house had Windows
Is this specifically about Windows? or about software in general?

I think Microsoft would take it as a compliment that they release too often. I also think Windows is one of the most backward-compatible systems out there.

mrspandex··on Logging the cloud with SimpleDB
Maybe RDBMS isn't the /most/ efficient way to store the data, but the advantage of being able to write simple and powerful queries against that data is huge. I seem to lose that with file or key/value based storage. Am I wrong? (not trying to criticize, I am genuinely curious)

Also, I don't need to worry about files across servers and rolling log files that file logs usually entail.

mrspandex··on Logging the cloud with SimpleDB
Logging seems like the perfect candidate for a relational database. It's a write-heavy system with need for powerful ad-hoc query capabilities. Am I missing something? Why put this in a key-value store?
mrspandex··on Java.sun.com is down - breaking builds across the land
Although this shouldn't affect applications, some xml parsing libraries request the defining URI. For those that don't know, these URIs are for unique identification, not necessarily a real URL.

I really hope they do start suing individuals. Congressmen, and judges specifically.

mrspandex··on StackRocket: Build and share virtualized dev stacks, start coding in minutes
Your homepage should definitely mention that Mac is the only supported client. Take a look at the OS statistics from the hits on your site - my guess is that most are not Mac.
mrspandex··on The post-Jobs era: Tim Cook brings philanthropy back to Apple
This is a very common benefit for employees of large companies. It's surprising to me that this is news.
mrspandex··on $1 chip tests for HIV in 15 minutes, fits in your wallet

I don't. Care to explain?

mrspandex··on NETduino
>> "Netduino is also pin compatible with Arduino shields."

I think this is an awesome idea. Writing code in the original Arduino C dialect was a bit frustrating (for a Java guy). Being able to write in a higher level language that interops with already available Arduino accessories is just fantastic.

mrspandex··on Update: Internet Explorer IQ story was bogus
I'm assuming you mean IE, not Windows
mrspandex··on I just discovered major security flaws in my web store
I hate when the top answers on stack exchange sites are suggestions to do something completely different (don't write your own web store). I wonder how that could be avoided. Should he have worded the question differently? Should there be separate upvotes for "answers question" and "useful information"?
