mparramon··on Google: 90% of our engineers use the software you wrote (Homebrew), but...
Wrote a blog post about exactly this problem: optimizing interviews for fancy algorithm solving, when the position's daily work is nothing like that:

mparramon··on Microsoft Buys German To-Do List Startup 6Wunderkinder
Here's how you can get your data out of Wunderlist, in case you're thinking on migrating:

mparramon··on Guide for Technical Development
This reminds me of my 0 to web developer guide:

mparramon··on Why you should have a programming blog
If you're going to let the haters stop you from sharing, then they've won. I systematically ignore non-constructive criticism on what I write, and work hard (moderation, deletion, etc) to get rid of it.
mparramon··on Printing a wall-sized world map and what I've learned from it
Just found out about www.wallpapered.com, pretty relevant to this article.
mparramon··on Ask HN: What are the best product landing pages you've stumbled upon?
I like the Ztory one, but I think it should state more about the product:

mparramon··on TrackPoint (2011)
You can also try ditching the mouse/trackpad altogether, here's how I did it:

mparramon··on Elevator.js
Something.js strikes again!

mparramon··on Rails API is coming to Rails 5
Why was it pulled before release?
mparramon··on Pause Me – Apply the 20-20-20 rule to prevent eyestrain while working
I use Time Out for OS X, works like a charm:

mparramon··on Rust vs. Ruby: building an API
> Update: I've reproduced the Ruby benchmarks with RACK_ENV=production variable and saw more than 5x performance increase.

mparramon··on Why We Should Demand a Shorter Workweek
"Today, proletarianized white-collar workers are required to work 50-60 hours a week."

This sounds barbaric to the ears of an European salaryman.

mparramon··on Companies with a flat structure are weird
"Any sufficiently complicated company w/o management contains an ad hoc, informally-specified, bug-ridden, slow implementation of management" https://twitter.com/wycats/status/368752712894017536

mparramon··on I didn't wash my hair for a month an a half, here are the results
It actually got better for me after the 2nd week.
mparramon··on I didn't wash my hair for a month an a half, here are the results
Don't you ever wash your hair, at least with baking soda + vinegar?
mparramon··on I didn't wash my hair for a month an a half, here are the results
My main benefit is not needing to wash my hair every day anymore. Before, if I spent more than 24 hours without washing it, it would be full of grease. Now, it lasts in a decent state for about a week.
mparramon··on Ask HN: What have you achieved in January 2015?
Here you go :) http://www.developingandstuff.com/2015/02/no-poo.html
mparramon··on The “No Poo” Method
Sarcastic?
mparramon··on Ask HN: What have you achieved in January 2015?
I'm preparing a post about it, will be up tonight if everything goes well :)
mparramon··on The Histomap
Thanks!!
mparramon··on The Histomap
Where can I buy a poster of it that ships to Spain?
mparramon··on Twitter Twitter CFO's account has been hacked
The most shocking part is that the Twitter CFO only has 13k followers.
mparramon··on Ask HN: What have you achieved in January 2015?
* Switched to washing my hair once a week after 45 days of not washing it, no 'poo style. Before this, if I didn't wash it every day, I'd have a head of grease in 30 hours.

* Hit 60K pageviews on http://www.developingandstuff.com for the second month in a row; started splitting posts by content into several thematic blogs.

* Restarted playing the bass, seriously considering getting Rocksmith after trying it out at a friend's house.

* Got my first sale on fiverr: https://www.fiverr.com/mparramon/

mparramon··on A Maze of Murderscapes: Metroid II
I'm about to buy a Gameboy Pocket just due to this post. http://www.developingandstuff.com/2015/02/lets-play-some-gam...
mparramon··on Is running ads on a programming blog worth it?
Another reference: I'm getting about $30/month for 60K pageviews/month to www.developingandstuff.com – definitely not serious cash, just a nice incentive.

mparramon··on Ask HN: What is the most enjoyable language to write code in (for you), and why?
Ruby. It feels like telling the computer what I want to do, instead of piping my orders through some arcane syntax like most other languages.
