morbidkk··on Why can't we concentrate?
through "forced" repeated and rapid decision making we tend to pass on the things too fast without much deliberation by considering oneself smart. But stick to some things very well like music/twitter/ etc etc. Its not actually question of concentration; we are trying to cope up with information overload and sifting and filtering is required or at least such requirement is perceived
morbidkk··on Study: Old Age Begins at 27

morbidkk··on "Why I Hate Django" - DjangoCon 2008 Keynote by Cal Henderson [vid]

morbidkk··on This is the page that made doing OOP in Javascript click for me.
well I have read Apress JavaScript Design patterns by dean edwards(base2) and JavaScript techniques by Resig..

They do have overlapping content at times but surely helped me to understand static vs instance methods/prototype vs object.

One of the books clearly mentions how JavaScript is different than other languages. i.e. helps to understand reference/how chaining works( jQuery)

And once I read them I went back to ejohn.org and reread his posts. I can understand them better now :)

morbidkk··on TechCrunch50 has few younger first time entrepreneuers
and then we were discussing about startup founder's salary http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=299137

morbidkk··on Peter Thiel: Best Predictor of Startup Success Is Low CEO Pay

morbidkk··on Relaunch of HearWhere - Rate/Review my startup
jQuery+jMpas cool
morbidkk··on Cappuccino’s FlickrDemo in 45 lines of jQuery
I feel flickr demo is not at all appropriate example for the cappucino.

Further I see the trend more and more web development is shifting to model of desktop application development; as most good programmers can keep whole thing in head while designing complex web application.

jquery is sweet and fits the bill all the time.

Examples for the trend are

1. GWT

2. Apache Wicket

3. Cappuccino

morbidkk··on Onion Map
any competitors in this space?
morbidkk··on Google Chrome, Google's Browser Project
any link to V8 project? Comic strip says its just a module in Chrome and can be used extensively for other projects i.e. that means games/cool desktop/mobile apps
morbidkk··on Job offer
send him ubuntu hardy 8.04LTS for free
morbidkk··on Javascript cheat sheet
It misses some things:

1) prototype

2) constructor

3) prompt

4) debugger statement i.e. this is must for anyone who want to put breakpoints in code

But this is really short and sweet 1 page Core JS summary for people who want to write their own libraries

(function(){

  var myLib = {}

  myLib.prototype={

  method1: function(){ xx;yy;zz},

  method2: function(){ xx;yy;zz},

  variable1: 'value1'
}

)()

morbidkk··on Is AppJet the next big web framework?
how is it different from the helma? I found helma(helma.org) quite mature. Compare http://appjet.com/learn-to-program/lessons/lor to http://helma.org/docs/guide/framework/

Is there anyone who has used helma extensively can comment on this?

morbidkk··on Indiahacker.com -- request for review
only problem I see here is content and how frequently you would get correct hacker kinda news(that too India specific) there. You can't follow multiple sites for same news.

From the current content I don't find any technical article there. India specific news can be followed by

1. http://india.alltop.com

2. follow indianews on twitter

good initiative though.
