Google version of RCS would cripple iMessage. standard RCS is not good enough to be used in practice. Basically google wants apple to use its own version of iMessage (conveniently calls it as RCS and make it looks like it is standard)

Google released 13 + messaging products in last 10 years. Apple provides much better compatibility to google Apps than google itself provides to its own apps lol :)

Actually this is a good decision. Instead of squeezing paying customers to fund the free users, it's better to stop the free plan and offer better service to playing users. There are lots of free hosting plans now a days like every cloud vendor offers some kind of free plans.

Asp.net Forms and WinForms are much much much better rapid development tools than the kinds of bubble/retool etc. The issue is that lots of very young people have very limited set knowledge about the choices available to them.

My advise would be exactly opposite. Dont EVER use serverless container use kubernetes instead if you need scale or not.

1. Use GKS/EKS/LKE/DKS. dont try to setup kubernetes cluster in your server by yourself.

2. It's very simple to setup deployment, database etc. it will take a week of a decent engineer to setup your application in kubernetes cluster - end to end.

3. LKE/DKS is super cheap compared to Heroku.

4. Use github actions (free) and docher hub ($5 month to build your container images) and its very easy, all you need is a weekend.

5. IMPORTANT: It's foolish to architecture your application to fit into serverless container.

bullshit. there are tons of images in this site most are above 10kb, there are several images I could find which are above 20kb.

Jquery is passive, just loading jQuery in the page itself doesn't do any harm. could be some plugins they are using might be doing something unnecessary.

Run As Fast As You Can As Far As You Can from frameworks like flutter.

If I were you, I'd develop web app and embed it via web view in native Android/iOS. If you really need platform specific L&F, you can consider react-native.

+1 to the dart part.

NativeScript is way better than flutter/dart. NS embraces open web technologies.

As you mentioned, NS has all the substance it needs but like any framework has some rough edges. What NS lacks is the PR army like the one flutter has.

biggest advantage of flutter is the amount of time/energy spent in marketing flutter itself. dart is given up by google engineers long time ago. There were time where small amount of ads front end written in angular dart (like 10 pages across 4 applications) and those pages replaced with angular/typescript.

Probably you should go with java/kotlin instead of flutter/dart.

My opinion: JetBrains IDEs beat every single other IDE/editor hands down (Visual Studio -- not Code -- comes close). The level of integration and polish is unmatched. I happily paid for license and it's been a well spent investment.
