mkl··on Drawing with zero-width characters
Images of what it's supposed to look like would really help, as I'm pretty sure none of my browsers are rendering it as you hoped. For me in Chrome the first image looks vaguely like a landscape, with no identifiable features, and in Firefox it looks like grass (both on Android). The dog and tree shapes look distorted and glitchy, but recognisable if you know what they're supposed to be.

I spotted a typo: "font's like".

mkl··on Nvidia to buy assets from Groq for $20B cash
I think your volume per bill should be 6.14 * 0.0254 * 2.61 * 0.0254 * 0.00011 ≈ 1.137e-6 m³. That means about 227 m³ total volume, or about 2800 wheelbarrows.

mkl··on Henge Finder
For me on desktop there's no info other than "Henge Finder requires a desktop or laptop computer" (Chrome/Edge/Firefox on Windows, not exactly uncommon!).

The following in the browser console will enable it:

  document.querySelector('.mobile-block').remove(); document.querySelector('.container').style = ''
mkl··on OpenSCAD is kinda neat
They long pre-date the demoscene, going back centuries in mathematics. Ray tracing/casting of implicit surfaces (described with SDFs and more general signed functions) for computer graphics goes back to the 1960s and 70s. The 1990s demoscene 2D metaball effects were based on computer graphics work by Jim Blinn for Cosmos in 1980. Most current applications are based on that long ongoing research. (I did my PhD in implicit surface stuff, so I've seen tons of academic papers on it going back ages, and I never ran into demoscene methods in that context.)
mkl··on VPN location claims don't match real traffic exits
Google's GeoIP is rubbish for me. Often it's hundreds of kilometres off, and varies a lot even for a fixed IP.
mkl··on What is the nicest thing a stranger has ever done for you?
And alcohol wipes. Just the other day someone stopped to give me alcohol wipes after I put my chain back on. The alcohol cleans off the grease completely, unlike paper towels. I'm carrying a pack in my car now.

Anti-money laundering.
mkl··on DeepSeek uses banned Nvidia chips for AI model, report says
What's not safe for you? They pay you the money, then you send the item to the address they ask. You already got the money! Cancelling the sale because the buyer wants to spend a bit less on shipping seems like an awful thing to do. International shipping gets ridiculously expensive, so combining multiple small packages into one shipment makes perfect sense.

mkl··on ESA Sentinel-1D delivers first high-resolution images
They're not the highest resolution, but they're still high enough resolution that I can't see the details without zooming in.
mkl··on ESA Sentinel-1D delivers first high-resolution images
These replies prompted me to go looking. Firefox Android (which I'm using) does have an option in the settings under Accessibility called "Zoom on all websites". It works!

Chrome has a similar option, which also works on this site. I expect this might break a few pages, but Google Maps and OpenStreetMap work fine, with pinch zoom zooming the map when you do it on the map.

mkl··on ESA Sentinel-1D delivers first high-resolution images
High resolution images, but they decided to disable zoom on mobile. I don't understand why anyone does that.

mkl··on Atuin’s New Runbook Execution Engine
What is the advantage of a screwdriver over something like a saw?

Atuin Desktop and Marimo have quite different purposes and not much in common. Atuin Desktop is a runbook system for devops, to store, document, and run sequences of templated terminal commands (and some other things). Marimo is a reactive Python notebook development system for programming, data science, etc., which can't run terminal commands.
