For anyone learning to build and train neural nets, this is a fantastic cheat sheet; Andrej is top-notch at explaining these kinds of things. The other posts on this blog are definitely worth a read as well!
True, but Tesla is still only selling the AWD Model 3 variants in Europe right now, which start at ~$50k USD plus import duties and VAT. Even with government subsidies that’s still a really expensive car for most people. I’m expecting an even larger burst of orders once the RWD variants start shipping to Europe.
What’s special isn’t so much putting people into LEO, so much as a private company having done it! It’s one thing for a nation-state to send a mission across the Atlantic or to the moon, but it’s a VERY different thing for companies to begin doing those things — developing rockets has always been enormously expensive, and this test (among others) signals that companies are finding ways to do it profitably. If this trend continues, we can probably expect the cost of a ticket to space to drop dramatically in the next 20 years. Wouldn’t it be amazing to visit other planets in our lifetimes?
The newest cans from Sony and Bose ARE pretty good, but the pressure always bothers my ears after a while, especially when I’m not playing music. There’s no real substitute for a quiet office, other than maybe working remotely.
Same, but I always remap Caps Lock to Control since I use the emacs keybindings. Using other people's laptops is really disorienting now, but worth it :)
