mildred593··on Heavy electric trucks cheaper than diesel goods trucks
What about including the true cost of remediating lithium pollution?
mildred593··on Composable Moderation
I had a really similar idea I'm working on and this can be solved by federation, and allowing users to move freely between servers. A gicen server could have its own moderation list. If you want to bypass it you'll need to connect to a server in another juridiction.
mildred593··on SQLite Doesn't Use Git
typo commits might be really useful, especially if you can bisect a bug from one of those commits. it happened to me.
mildred593··on What will a Chromium-only Web look like?
No, Chrome came from WebKit and from KHTML. The code does not belongs to Google at all and they can't re-license it.
mildred593··on Ask HN: Are most of us developers lying about how much work we do?
Very bad, you should take a shower after the bath, not before, so when you're out, you're clean.
mildred593··on Satanists Demand FDA Give Them Access to Abortion Drugs for Religious Ritual
> If they get the approval they seek, you can bet a lot of women in red states — where Republican lawmakers are doing everything in their power to block access to health care — will suddenly start praising Satan. If and when that happens, they’ll have conservative Christians to thank for the conversion.

At least they will be more coherent. Pretending to be christian and performing abortion is just not compatible. At least those mothers might have regrets later knowing very well they did something evil.

mildred593··on Captcha forces people to mark mailbox as parking meter
Sometimes I play with giving some false positive to my capacha results, it's fun to see the AI accept or not my responses...

As for parking meters, in France, I never saw parking meters like this. We have different kind of ticket distributing machines.

mildred593··on The CNAME of the Game: Large-scale Analysis of DNS-based Tracking Evasion
I always thought that was a bad decision, thinking that subdomains could be related security-wise to other domains looking the same.

DNS was thought out from the beginning so you could split it anywhere you wanted to delegate things, and you can also delegate with CNAME too.

I'd welcome a security model that does not use origins. It's doable, but the origin trick was a convenient way to enforce some security measures bolted on as an after thought without breaking much the compatibility.

mildred593··on The Fediverse is better than regular social media
That's my problem with the fediverse, I'm more far-right that far-left and I find nobody that share my opinions on the fediverse. Until it changes to be more open-minded, I will have to find my way elsewhere.
mildred593··on Neutralino.js: build JavaScript-HTML-CSS desktop apps without embedding browsers
Found a good review about this and how it works here: https://quick-geek.github.io/articles/438402/index.html
