mihaelm··on We might all be AI engineers now
> "You turn it on and it scales right up"

is my favorite quote from the video.

mihaelm··on Payment fees matter more than you think
And no doubt they’ll find a way to spend it in the app considering you can manage almost all aspects of your life within it.

Revolut works similarly. You don’t pay any fees on transfers to other Revolut accounts, but you do for other bank accounts.

mihaelm··on GPT‑5.3 Instant
Never, it’s a very effective punctuation mark. While it may not have been common in day-to-day messaging, it’s very common in writing of all sorts.
mihaelm··on Zclaw – The 888 KiB Assistant
For something like OpenClaw yes, but not for Zclaw. I think the naming is more about riding the current wave of Claw-related interest rather than positioning it as competition or replacement for other clawies.

Zclaw is about running an agent in your embedded system.

mihaelm··on Zclaw – The 888 KiB Assistant
File size is a legit property to keep in mind if your goal is to create an agent that runs on ESP32 boards. They don't expect you to run Zclaw on Mac Mini.
mihaelm··on Anthropic Cowork feature creates 10GB VM bundle on macOS without warning
I just went on a tangent related to dev environments i.e. inside what to develop. In case of Cowork, a VM is definitely the right choice - no doubt.
mihaelm··on Zclaw – The 888 KiB Assistant
Because of resource-constrained environments, the primary deployment target seem to be microcontrollers. You can get ESP32 boards for pretty cheap.

I prefer devcontainers for more involved project setups as they keep it lighter than introducing a VM. It’s also pretty easy to work with Docker (on your host) with the docker-outside-of-docker feature.

However, I’m also curious about using NixOS for dev environments. I think there’s untapped potential there.

mihaelm··on Obsidian Sync now has a headless client
I love that CLIs are getting a second wind.
mihaelm··on Don't trust AI agents
5000+ open PRs is pretty insane, that's the highest I've seen. How do you even keep track of this? We'll really need trust management systems like vouch (https://github.com/mitchellh/vouch/tree/main) for open source projects in the future to help with reducing noise.
mihaelm··on Google restricting Google AI Pro/Ultra subscribers for using OpenClaw
I moved off Gmail exactly because I didn’t want to be fresh out of luck if I ever need support.

It’s free so I’m not going to complain, but for something as vital as an e-mail, I’m willing to pay for a service to have some peace of mind.

mihaelm··on Algolia Hacker News Search GitHub Project Archived
Ruby is a sleeper for me. I wasn’t around when Ruby on Rails was all the rage for startups, so I always get surprised when I learn that so-and-so started off as a Ruby project.

But it totally makes sense considering its style.
