mifydev··on Augment.vim: AI Chat and completion in Vim and Neovim
This is what I was hoping for when I saw this post! I hate to admit it, but I've recently switched to cursor as nvim experience without ai feels really slow now. Definitely going to try this!
mifydev··on Default/Override: An Elegant Schema for User Settings
Amazing approach! We’re essentially allowing people to do the same thing in typeconf, you can define your config package schema and defaults, then in your app or service you can import and override the configs. Thanks for the article though, I think we need to work more on this!
mifydev··on Typeconf 0.2.8 – Simplified usage, now available without extra package
Announcing a new version of Typeconf, which simplifies the way you can use it. You don’t have to create a new package for configuration, now you can directly use it in your project.

If you haven’t seen this before, Typeconf allows you to write JSON configs with types in Typescript, you can check out playground to try it out: https://typeconf.dev/playground.

Please let me know if there are any issues or if you have questions, I’ll be happy to help!

mifydev··on Valencia bikeway appeal rejected; construction to begin in February
I don't understand why businesses are against it. This project will eliminate parking spaces and create more walkable space, which will make people spend more time on this street and buying more stuff!
mifydev··on Valencia bike lane saga continues after new group files appeal
It seems like the central lane design is controversial here: https://missionlocal.org/newsletter/new-valencia-curbside-bi...
mifydev··on CCL: Categorical Configuration Language
That's fun! I also want to participate, here's my application for configuration languages competition #927 — Typeconf. We like the idea of adding types to configs, but why should everyone introduce their DSL, just use Typescript!
mifydev··on [dead]
They should name the joint company NiHon
mifydev··on Quarkdown: Turing-Complete Extension of Markdown
This tool is mostly aimed at writing articles and books as author describes. So, think of a tool like pandoc, but instead of embedding latex syntax they opted for adding functions to Markdown.
mifydev··on Stainless raises $25M Series A for its SDK generator
Amazing, congrats!
mifydev··on Everyone won't be a software engineer but everyone can build
If that would be the case, which I kind of agree with, boy do we need more SREs to make sure these apps won't blow up.
mifydev··on The Problem with Bitcoin: Everybody Wins
But isn’t the main value of Bitcoin is that it is mathematically limited in quantity? It will inevitably be scarce and the price should go up albeit not as fast. Surely it will go up or down based on speculation, but that would more dependant on how risk averse the market is at the moment, do people want stable scarce resource or do people something more quickly growing. So for me Bitcoin is getting more similar to gold, am I missing something?
mifydev··on JSON5 – JSON for Humans
I don’t know how to feel about this. Personally I want to write configs like code, and I want to avoid using yet another specific DSL for it. So currently working on a tool that allows you to write configs in Typescript - https://github.com/typeconf/typeconf
mifydev··on JSON5 – JSON for Humans
Take a look at https://typeconf.dev We wanted to define configs with types and avoid custom DSLs as much as possible. So we ended up with using Typespec.io for schema and plain Typescript for authoring configs. This should be as normal as possible!
mifydev··on Rust needs a web framework
There is https://shuttle.rs. Not only a framework but a tool that can generate all the web boilerplate around it, sounds lazy enough for me!
mifydev··on Autossh – automatically restart SSH sessions and tunnels
I’d recommend https://eternalterminal.dev/, compared to mosh(poor colors support), this is the only thing that manages to consistently keep up my ssh sessions.
mifydev··on Desed: Demystify and debug your sed scripts
Oh, I definitely need to run this one on https://github.com/chebykinn/sedmario
mifydev··on A prank cursor resulted in an employee being fired before they started (2020)
You had me in the first half. I thought that during that time "no blame culture" wasn't a thing, especially since Bill Gates's leading style was yelling a lot. Either way, it's great that they kept the employee.
mifydev··on Why nobody grows up wanting to be a DevOps engineer
I know, right? I think there is some genuine negative clout around the DevOps title, that's why they went for this title.
mifydev··on Show HN: Mify – CLI that generates and maintains your backend infra code
Thanks for asking, so for (a) it doesn’t lock into some specific platform, it just generates code that you’ll own completely. And because it generates full fledged backend service it should be more scalable and flexible.

For (b) Mify uses terraform for cloud infra, we don’t want to reinvent it. We just saving time on writing and gluing it by yourself.
