Submitter here: This is not my site! I am not the person doing the reverse job application. I stumbled upon the site and thought the mindset was something HN would like and possibly get inspiration from.

Myspace is a sister company to the WSJ? In theory maybe, but I am sure many folks at the Journal consider Myspace like that strange step-sister you'd rather not talk about.

I really don't see Myspace as much if a competitor to FB anymore, either.

Is there a central place on or off HN this will be tracked?

There is clearly someone in the driver's seat with their hands on the wheel. This one may not have been automated at all but collecting data.

Am I naive to think your startup should be that good, that great, that unfailing that reporters should find you?

Honestly, I have not seen a different in FB since this change. Groups look a little different but that is about it.

Is it that no one has attempted to add me to any groups without me knowing?

I would definitely be in, but I can't even code yet.

Not at all. If you send me an email without me asking, there is no public effect. One example of how this is bad with groups is what if I happen to be on a job search and someone adds me to the "I steal office supplies from my employer and sell them on eBay" group. Let's say a prospective employer is a friend of a FB friend of mine and looks at my profile and sees this. Job offer gone.

Yes, it is as bad as it looks. If one person can add you to a group without your approval, that's bad.

What will happen in this group? How will it be useful? (Not meant in a snarky way, I am curious.)

Depending on who it is, I either do it for them or immediately start talking about how much I charge.

They (Diaspora staff) said this as they released it:

Intriguing, but not yet a smoking gun. Could the Chinese company have been a source for some of the exterior parts? Could the Chinese company be pirating the Indian design?

I have had more success than the author. It should be important to note that Flash on a mobile device is not going to be as easy to use as it is on a PC because the device is not as easy to use as a PC. I love having Flash on my phone as it allows me to see Flash enhanced navigation, mapping sites and the occasional game.
