Few things:
- It gets really confusing when I have 3 different specializations named Renee
- It makes sense that when you get more team members, you have to scroll to see them, parallels actual work where you can't really give full oversight to large teams
- Because there is an option to get a large team, you should add project managers that can take some team members and auto-perform their work
I find most SV companies, like game design, falls apart when it is used as a vehicle to test out a philosophy instead of implementing an idea users actually want.
Being that console parts are particularly cheaper than their PC equivalents, I think they'd make a lot more money focusing on their game management services. PS Now wasn't very good and caps out with respect to a user's internet capability, but the idea of 'leasing' games online could be severely improved. Another avenue could be revising and improving their hypervisor and their SDK to the point where they can confidently open up a homebrew app market. And release a playstation emulator or something similar that enables me to access any of my PS4 Sony-approved, online-verified and signed titles from my PC, provided I'm connected to my PS4 (not online) at all times. These incentives will make me want a Ps4, but don't add any incentives for me to use cracking software, but require effort on Sony's part to build up their security, and focus more on revenue generation than profit generation, so that cracking becomes largely pointless.
Further, even if a group manages to secure trillions of tons of common materials for us today, who's to say it will be given out for free? If it is, well, maybe I want you to give my country a bit more of the share than other countries, or I'll take their share by force. Even if we emerge a united world after something like that, we may find that we've developed far superior technology that has no use for the materials you've acquired.
There are tons of real-world questions that have to be answered, and it doesn't matter if we don't have time to come up with a good one, because someone will pull the trigger first.
That is StackExchange though...
I understand and I fully stand by his belief that software freedom does not mean egalitarian and morally righteous principles have to be undermined in order to progress.
However, it is not the FSF's job to make sure those values are upheld in every facet of moral righteousness. The goal is clear: make and keep software free as in liberty. That's it. Anything else should be completely within the realm of personal viewpoints.
I completely and wholeheartedly stand by the fact that we as a society need to deal with sexual violence much better than we are currently doing so.
Not an ounce of my being, however, places the burden on dealing with this onto Stallman's, or Kuhn's, or any other FSF member's shoulder. Help if you can. Help if you want, but if your job is to make software free, you're doing great. If you can solve other moral issues while doing so, even better, but it's not required.
Make a fact checking company. Let the burden of attracting users fall on that company alone. Let them compete for ad space among users. Push the responsibility of providing an accurate and unbiased service onto them. Let them fail and go bankrupt if no one wants to use those services
In short, stop hiding behind the veil of keeping people "informed". People are as informed as they want to be, and if you truly feel people desire to know facts versus lies, make a company and compete in the free market like everyone else who has an idea to sell.
But, that aside, why the need for hostility?
It still has an air of anarchy/anarcho-capitalism as it always had, the tone has just shifted more towards the anarchism element.
And as it stands now, 4chan is still the most popular imageboard, which is largely why /pol/ is a blob of opinions where the only thing anyone can agree on is that they hate each other.
Edit: Here is a video demonstration, posted by someone else in this discussion
Great work! This is incredibly useful stuff and can't wait to start trying it out
