mhkool··on 239 Experts with 1 Big Claim: The Coronavirus Is Airborne
Prof Dr Cicero Coimbra showed in an interview a graph that makes you think: with 18 ng/ml vitamin D levels 100% of patients with covid-19 die and with 34 ng/ml 100% survive with a line in between: so the less vitamin D, the higher the risk to die. He has a protocol to give a single high dose of vitamin D and all patients survive. The interview is in Portuguese and the graph has English labels: https://youtu.be/l_nKoLY60lY?t=911
mhkool··on Ask HN: I'm a software engineer going blind, how should I prepare?
Search for Dr den Boer on YouTube. In one of his videos he says: I am no ofthalmologist and a patient that was loosing sight came in and TL;DR his sight came back after 6 months of treatment. Of course I cannot make promises but with loosing sight I would certainly visit him.
mhkool··on With no vaccine anytime soon, how will we treat Covid-19?
While scientists (only) focus on vaccins, doctors know from experience how one can have an optimally functioning immune system. I suggest to check out Dr Eric Berg on Youtube to learn how to protect yourself.
mhkool··on Ask HN: Has Peter Thiel retreated to his bunker yet?
If Peter Thiel has a doctor that explains to him how he himself can boost his immune system he does not need to be afraid of the virus. You may get good advice yourself by checking out Dr Eric Berg on Youtube.
mhkool··on New York state has 10 times the Covid-19 cases California has. Why?
Nobody knows the real number of infected people since to know that the whole population must be tested, so we can only guess. My guess is that the people in California have higher levels of Vitamin D which regulates the immune system and that there appear to be less cases in California since there are fewer people with symptoms.
mhkool··on How to Respond to COVID-19
For those who are interested in how to improve your own immune system function I recommend to watch a couple of videos of Dr Bergman and Dr Axe
mhkool··on Rumor: AMD Zen 3 Architecture to Support Up to 4 Threads per Core
"dead time" occurs when a thread is stalled. The most common reason is a cache miss. So if the running applications have sufficient cache misses, additional threads may help - provided that the applications are multithreaded.
mhkool··on Saudi Arabia Shuts Down About Half Its Oil Output After Drone Strikes
I stated already in a previous comment: the Houthis are fighting for their own country. The Houthis may be helped by Iran but Iran is not commanding them. Since the Houthis fight for a Yemen without the appointed president, they fight for their own country. Saudi Arabia choose to have a war with the Houthis (not with Iran!) so this is not a proxy war at all.
mhkool··on Saudi Arabia Shuts Down About Half Its Oil Output After Drone Strikes
The Houthis are genuinely fighting for their own country. Iran may help them but Iran is not commanding them, so I do not see this as a proxy war but an internal affair to Yemen.
mhkool··on Saudi Arabia Shuts Down About Half Its Oil Output After Drone Strikes
Of course not, but since Saudi Arabia is the ally of the USA, in the eyes of many the enemy of Saudi Arabia must be a bunch of terrorists instead of liberation fighters who want to get rid of a president that was appointed by Saudi Arabia.
mhkool··on Saudi Arabia Shuts Down About Half Its Oil Output After Drone Strikes
Because Iran knows how to defend itself.
mhkool··on Why we're saying no to Google
Google can monetize. They can charge for Android and ask a fee per phone which you pay when you buy the phone. But Google choose to break the law and accept the fact that it will be fined because in the end it has more profit and that will cause a lot of irritation and higher penalties from the EU. And probably someone will cry about faul play as well.
mhkool··on Why we're saying no to Google
This behaviour of Google shows that the fines of the EU are still not high enough.
mhkool··on Epstein Suicide Conspiracies Show How Our Information System Is Poisoned
Let's forget "conspiracy" and let's think "curiosity" for a moment. How is it possible that Epstein, who is accused of organizing sex with children and apparently with lots of evidence against him, and who has apparently tried to kill himself two weeks ago, has to appear in court and is facing many years in jail, apparently has a lot of dirt on others, (a) is not on a suicide watch, (b) is found dead in a specialised institute where suicide is said to be impossible (stated by a man who was imprisoned there).

I do not buy it when officials say that it was not necessary to have him on suicide watch. For whatever reason them come up with, I do not buy it. I find it extremely suspicious that he was found dead. We have to wait and see what an investigation will bring forward... but probably I will not buy whatever will be stated.

mhkool··on Insect 'apocalypse' in U.S. driven by 50x increase in toxic pesticides: study
I did not say anything about the capability of the jury but was talking about the evidence that was brought to court.
mhkool··on Insect 'apocalypse' in U.S. driven by 50x increase in toxic pesticides: study
I think the correct and productive term to use is "parent", not motherf*@!#
mhkool··on Insect 'apocalypse' in U.S. driven by 50x increase in toxic pesticides: study
I base my opinion on three court cases in the USA where evidence was borught to court that Monsanto knew many years ago about the cancer causing risks. on what do you base "this is simply a lie" ?
mhkool··on Insect 'apocalypse' in U.S. driven by 50x increase in toxic pesticides: study
I know the difference between herbicides and microRNA but you do not seem to see the assumptions that you make.
mhkool··on Insect 'apocalypse' in U.S. driven by 50x increase in toxic pesticides: study
You are making an assumtpion that your dsRNA is safe. The same type of assumption was made with Roundup where Roundup "only" effected a single pathway. We now know that this assumption was wrong and that Roundup causes cancer. Making assumptions is a very dangerous game.
mhkool··on Insect 'apocalypse' in U.S. driven by 50x increase in toxic pesticides: study
with Roundup that story was "it only interferes with the shikimate pathway" and now we know that it is not true.

You simply cannot give any guarantee whatsoever that the dsRNA-based poison that you consider safe, really is safe or has unforeseen fatal effects.

You should read more about agriculture and look at the many success stories of farmers who produce in large scale without using poisons. Then you might understand that there is no need for poisons.

mhkool··on Insect 'apocalypse' in U.S. driven by 50x increase in toxic pesticides: study
People who give advise are advisors, people who kill are murderers, people who have kids are parents and people who produce or spray poisons are poinsoners. Using the word "poisoner" is not calling some names, it is simply using the correct word for the person that we are discussing.
mhkool··on Insect 'apocalypse' in U.S. driven by 50x increase in toxic pesticides: study
you are neglecting the negative effects of spraying billions of tons of Roundup on the planet before the public knows for sure that it is a dangerous poison. Same with neonics, we sprayed too much and the insect populations shrunk too much and will not revive quickly since the poison is still in plants and soil.

The obvious thing is that industries work for profit and have no sympathy with insects or the health of individuals and that we are unable to regulate industries in a proper way.

mhkool··on I don’t know what to do with life
your problem seems to have little with your career and a lot with with your depression. I suggest that you visit https://brokenbrain.com/ to listen to what Dr Hyman has to say about the root causes of depression. And guess what... if you can find your root causes you can solve your depression.
mhkool··on China rare earths group supports counter-measures against U.S. 'bullying'
Trump had a point to protect US Steel and Aluminum plants and perhaps a few other industries, but Trump failed miserably with his "maximum pressure" strategy. Only in a couple of years we will be able to oversee the results of the mess of today.
mhkool··on Ask HN: What did you do when you suddenly got rich?
Move to Ireland for 2 years to become a resident, there you only pay 10% tax over the capital gain if you meet the "entrepeneur relief" criteria. Not sure if this works as a US citizen, but works for many.
mhkool··on Boeing May Halt 737 Max Production
Airline security must never be a matter of putting pressure on an organization.

off topic: you sound like a president who thinks that "maximum pressure" is good, but it has not been proven to work.

mhkool··on In Global Tech Battle, the Philippines Chooses China
correct, and that is why I think stable is an important feature.
mhkool··on In Global Tech Battle, the Philippines Chooses China
personally I prefer to do business with a stable political climate and without concentration camps.
mhkool··on In Global Tech Battle, the Philippines Chooses China
Who would you like to do business with?

country A that has the best tech, has a stable political climate, does not push too much, has a good price, or country B, who has inferior tech, a "maximum pressure" president and asks too much.

Turkey choose Russia for its S400 and the Philippines choose Huawei for its 5G for obvious reasons. If people in country B do not understand why this happens, they will fail again doing business.

mhkool··on To Break Google’s Monopoly on Search, Make Its Index Public
Bloomberg talks about 'making the index public' and the way to do it is with the API. But the API behaves like the website of Google and does not make the index of the website content available. Google's new AI-based algorithm is trained by humans with a strong bias. An example of this is the disappearance of website of respectable medical doctors who use non-mainstream methods. It is one thing to agree or disagree with someone, but completely dropping a website from search results is effectively censorship and who is Google to determine who sees what?
