You should either store only the salted hash value, or outsource the identity management to a third party who knows not to store the users passwords. :)
I know a disproportionately large percentage of Google and Microsoft are Indian too, quite likely Amazon as well. Making the connection that the NYSE glitch is somehow connected to the tech staff being Indian is absurd and completely racist.
Whether your life consists of caring for others (children, elderly parents, or disabled relatives) or for your self (fitness, education, relaxation, or having fun) should not be differentiated.
The point is employers need to realize that you need to HAVE a life, and that will in the end make you the most productive and happy employee.
Perhaps what we need is acceptance of part time work in more high earning jobs. People who want to work 60-80 hour weeks and make the maximum money should be able to do so, while accommodating those who want to work 30 hours a week but are okay making less.
Editing comment to respond to replies in one place instead of individually.
1) The Note 4 is housed inside the Gear VR. Larger battery pack probably won't fit. You will need to carry spare batteries. Possibly the next generation might solve this.
2) I may have missed it, but I didn't see anyway to charge the Note 4 while using the Gear VR. So assuming you do have a charging port, you would need to stop and charge the device. Or carry a spare device to charge your spare battery while you use the Gear VR.
Just to be clear, I am not criticizing the Gear VR. My response was only targeted at the Parent comment's use case. I think it is really cool that Samsung is trying to think out of the box and come up with innovations. Some will stick, some won't. We will see.
That sounds like a fair way to do it.
The thing that gives me pause when considering this story is that in many (most?) countries of this world, this guy's career would have been unscathed after a domestic abuse claim. More likely, he would never have been prosecuted to begin with.
The relationship between a VC and an entrepreneur is symbiotic, not parasitic. The VC has collected extra cash he wants to risk to produce good returns on. The entrepreneur wants to build a business but does not have the funds to see it through the growth phase on his/her own. The two of you can get together to produce something that neither of you could have done individually. Each getting a slice of a pie that would not have existed if you had not worked together.
They better get it up quickly, or coders the world over will be late meeting their deadlines. :)
Seriously though, I cannot count the number of hours this site has saved me. This tool has done more for software developers than IDEs.
My guess is that your position with your cofounder is rather weak at the moment. The cofounder is probably stepping back and saying "This CTO guy knows what he is doing and if I have to choose, I would much rather go with him". That is a tough situation to be in. If that is true, it isn't your CTO firing you (he is just the front man), it is your cofounder. In fact, ONLY your cofounder can fire you (or your investors if you have sold them a big enough share).
A fairer comparison would be to a BMW 5xx or Mercedes E class. Tesla may still fair better but not by as huge a margin.
Having said all that... wow, that is a surprisingly huge difference in results!
