megy··on Instacart and DoorDash’s Tip Policies Are Delivering Outrage
How is it good service? Does the driver have any control over the traffic?
megy··on Instacart and DoorDash’s Tip Policies Are Delivering Outrage
I think tipping someone who delivers food to you is one of the only areas where tipping makes sense.

Aren't IBM number 3? But either way, Microsoft, Google, IBM, are all way behind Amazon.

40,000 people a year die in the US, because you are scared of a vagrant? Wow.
megy··on Bird CEO on scooter startup copycats, unit economics, safety and seasonality
Except they were not.

Cars are just too dangerous to have anywhere near people. They should be banned from cities and suburbs. 40,000 people die every year in the US because of cars. Dumbest idea ever.

I don't agree, London and Paris really took to their bike share systems. This will appeal to even more people.
megy··on Product-building articles by PMs at major tech companies
Oh yes. It is horrible working with a non-tech PM who doesn't understand the issues with engineering.
megy··on Apple blocks Google from running its internal iOS apps
> It seems to me that they should have a number of enterprise signing certs for each use case such as internal beta, external beta, internal utility, external utility, whatever.

Then you need each user to install each cert.

megy··on Apple blocks Google from running its internal iOS apps
What? Almost any apple developer in google could sign their app with that cert, and send it to anyone that has accepted the cert.
megy··on Apple Financial Results – Q1 2019 Conference Call LIVE
What a confusing post.
megy··on Instacart paying 80 cents an hour because worker received a large tip
The very people collected those checks are making those arguments, directly. Lets be honest, service staff prefer the way it is. They can prey on their customers, and they end up making more than they would if paid min wage.
megy··on Oregon Bottle Deposit System Hits 90 Percent Redemption Rate
I mean, this is the reality of using a product. Should all the difficult parts and smells be removed, or should you have to experience the downsides as well as the upsides of consuming.
megy··on Oregon Bottle Deposit System Hits 90 Percent Redemption Rate
With cans, you could crush them, so they took up only a small amount of room.
megy··on Oregon Bottle Deposit System Hits 90 Percent Redemption Rate
And time is free. Just get prisoners to do it. And then you have to ship the bottles to them, of course, unload, and load them back.
megy··on Oregon Bottle Deposit System Hits 90 Percent Redemption Rate
Yes, of course, but there would not be a lot of them.
megy··on Oregon Bottle Deposit System Hits 90 Percent Redemption Rate
Sure, but how many are going to drag there bottles across the border for a few cents, dollars at the most?
megy··on Oregon Bottle Deposit System Hits 90 Percent Redemption Rate
I thought someone ran the numbers, and it just wasn't worthwhile. Maybe that was from NY?
megy··on Design flaw behind MacBook Pro’s “stage light” effect
Of course, no one likes thin, light devices in a laptop that you carry around all the time. That is just silly.
megy··on Design flaw behind MacBook Pro’s “stage light” effect
> We're good enough

This isn't a decision you get to make. I want thinner, lighter. Always. Most people do.

megy··on Design flaw behind MacBook Pro’s “stage light” effect
How quick you forget, there were a lot of people complaining about the iMac dropping ports and using USB. If you want to see what it is look, look around at the people complaining these days about going all in on USB-C.
megy··on Design flaw behind MacBook Pro’s “stage light” effect
This is such a silly statement, I don't know where to being. Everyone wants thinner, lighter devices. Everyone. Or we would still be using 2 inch thick laptops. or 0.5 inch thick phones.

Even then, with the 2 inch thick laptops, there were making them as thin as they could. The tech wasn't there to make it any thinner, or they would have.

megy··on Bed that saved me from the Taliban
This makes no sense. Even the bank boss is a fool. Someone who falls for one scam once, isn't automatically never going to fall for a different scam ever again. It might be because they are always in a hurry to approve things, or gullible. You don't get rid of those traits with one lesson.

The reason they still use the hotel, is that there are not a lot of hotels in the area. This is not NY city.

megy··on Airbnb and security camera disclosure
Because it is a very uncommon situation.
megy··on Airbnb and security camera disclosure
> The problem was that it was peak Summer in Barcelona, we were there for a long period of time, and the only available units were minimum 5x the price.

What can they do then? Build new apartments for you?

> We had an Airbnb burglarized

Once again, what can they do?

They are not a hotel. You accept that when you book somewhere. It is not magic, there are going to be horrible places, there are going to be shitty owners who rob you.

You want all the benefits but none of the compromises. Too bad.

Ok, but don't you usually go to the supermarket anyway? I don't quite see what the point is, how did you survive until this point? The only thing difference is you are buying some more ingredients.
